man i've waited this forever, but it seems the dev finaly got his shit together and is finaly thinking of releasing...
so what is hex? hex it's basicaly magic the gathering but the whole thing is handled like a MMO, you have a character, which can learn passive's and active's abilities that you can use from the start of the game (give a creature flight!, deal damage equal to the number of artifact you control!) and there is equipment you can use, and each piece of equipment modifies the card you put in your deck in a way that make them better, for example a card might says "reveal the top three card of your deck, put a revealed creature on your hand" but there might be equipment that improves that to "put all of the revealed creature in your hand"
lastly there are mercenaries which are special wacky character that comes with their own unique passive, like this wizard inspired by D&D creator gary gygax which let you make special dice card out of thin air

what else... some of the cards have socket that let you put any ability you want in it,so for example if you have a socketable creature with an effect that triggers upon dealing damage you can slap him with an evasion effect and go to town, or maybe you want to put trample on your big otherwise vanilla fattie, you can do that too
the colors are those of the magic pie and act pretty much the same, some of the card take advantage of the computer game format, there are some card that enforce deck building rules (like a 2/2 1 mana flier that you can play only if you put 20 different cards in your deck, or a giant robot that plays 3 random card from your deck each time he attacks but can be played only if your deck is 150 card or above, there is a card that after attacking hides in the opponent deck and automaticaly wins you the game if it gets drawn)
the first two set seems to focus heavily on tribal (which i love, tribal is the best way to play MTG) the current set 1 tribes are...
- boring humans, they come in red, blue and white flavor... their gimmick is called inspire, some of the low cost human give buff to all of the card played that have an higher cost
- orcs, they come in black and red flavor... they are the beatdown color and comes mostly with evading effect, punishing effect or simply +1/+0 stuff
- dwarves, they come in red and blue flavor... they focus on artifact and have card that get stronger the more artifact you have or let you play more artifact, basicaly it's the race you want to play if you enjoyed mirrodin
- shin'hare, they come in black and green flavor... they are amusing samurai bunnies that focus on swarming and sacrificing unit for powerfull effect (one of their card is a giant shroom that sacrifice all of the bunnies to become huge)
the next set will focus on the other four races of the game which include...
- coyotle, they come in white, green and blue flavor... they favor defense and life gains and they are also the furry equivalent of native indians... a combination which make them the worst race ever
- necrotic, they come in all color... their gimmick is that some of their card get amazing ability when you get all of the colors in the game
- elves, they come in green... they have buff's and mana acceleration
- vennen, they come in black, spider people that like the shin'hare also favor token generation and sacrifice effect along with other nasty black color effect
here's a video of the game
