While the broadening world of streaming has no doubt turned many away from hoarding Blu-rays and DVDs, I’m of the belief that physical media will never die, and it’s stellar sets like this that enforce my stance. Fans of David Lynch‘s cult mystery series Twin Peaks are finally getting their long-awaited day in the high-definition sun, as the massive Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery 10-disc Blu-ray set will fire walk into stores on July 29, and it is definitely the most definitive collection we’ll ever get our hands on. At least until Lynch, who personally oversaw this set’s creation, and co-creator Mark Frost finally agree to make a completely disparate third season.

Airing for two seasons on ABC from 1990-1991, Twin Peaks unleashed upon the world the strangest town in America, mostly through the death of teenager Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee); things did manage to get even weirder once that storyline was completed, but it wasn’t quite the same show. In any case, all 30 episodes are obviously included in full 1080p with 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

But the real kicker here is the Blu-ray debut of Lynch’s 1992 prequel feature Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, which will be accompanied by almost 90 hi-def minutes of never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes. Twin Peaks fans have been clamoring for those lost scenes ever since their existence became public knowledge. (The footage’s public release was petitioned, people!) And there are a BOB-load more exclusive features in this set as well. But first, take a (twin) peek at some of that deleted footage in the clip below.

On a weird, side note, those high-waist "mom jeans" are making a comeback in Japan.

Also, that gum you like is back in style.

I was just thinking how trendy those actresses look. It's not just in Japan, Chrono. The thick eyebrows are also in and those tanks might as well be American Apparel.

That's crazy. I was so stunned to see those jeans come back. Not happy, by any stretch... just surprised. I like the tank tops, but those high-waist jeans were never good looking.

I haven't seen jeans like that at any women's clothing stores. Right now, what's in is faux-native wear, brightly colored 90's-esque designs. That style doesn't look current at all.

Native wear is REALLY popular now:

http://www.forever21.com/Product/Main.aspx?br=f21&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_term=forever%2021&utm_campaign=F21_BRANDED_E&utm_content=g_43465238958_e&gclid=COa66sn2ub4CFeMF7AodY3sA-g

Current trends: native designs - especially dresses,, elegant necklaces, gladiator sandal wedges, early 90's fashion geometry prints (leopard prints, triangles, POLKA DOTS :stahp), tank tops, denim jackets - especially with long dresses (very 90's), skinnies.

Today's women's fashion knocks the shit out of that picture, sorry. :(

They're probably not even tanks, they're leotards. That promo could be from 2014.

Sadly, Sherilyn Fenn doesn't look like that these days. Mädchen Amick still looks pretty close, though.

Is that Lara Flynn Boyle? I have -no- sympathy for actors who abandon directors who made them what they are. Good grief, though. That is pretty sad. Plastic surgery is satan.

Mädchen Amick is still infinitely smangable.

Also, back on topic. Never watched Twin Peaks all the way through, but I did just finish True Detective. Which is superior?

They're both police follow-ups to murders, but otherwise very different series. TD is about the way the two detectives relate to each other; Twin Peaks is about the seedy underbelly of American culture, present in all of us, even in a seemingly pure small American town. Peaks is also inarguably a David Lynch effort, which means it abandons reality whenever it feels like it. Like Lynch's hairstyle.

I quit the show after watching the first ep of S2. Struggled to get through S1 but it got better by the end, then S2 starts with some stupid shit. Just...too much.
:beli

I'll rewatch it from the beginning soon and give S2 a chance.

She looks like the wax museum version of herself after the building caught fire.  :(

Audrey and Shelly aged fine, at least.

I remember seeing her in the Psych episode and she looked good, just like an older version of herself.

Lara Flynn Boyle though  :kobeyuck

She was Christian Slater's wife in My Own Worst Enemy, where she gets a lot more screen time.

I'm really tempted to get the box set. I remember Twin Peaks fever, and my parents actually letting me stay up late to watch it with them on ABC. Wasn't allowed to watch Fire Walk With Me until I was in junior high, though. :lol

We used to go out to North Bend all the time for coffee and cherry pie, too.

Well that's cause you're using Buckle and Forever 21 as your fashion compass.

My family visited Snoqualmie Falls a few times on summer vacation, back when I was a kid. Back then, I could actually do all 7 courses of the breakfast. I've meant to get out there since then, but haven't been to WA since 1991.

There is an AA billboard on the street I live on for a chick doing the splits in jeans exactly like those. Its the least boner inducing AA billboard in my neighborhood in some time.

I think it's time you rectify that.
