Got an invite for the PS4 Beta. I don't know how much I can talk about it, but so far it's kind of impressive. Easy to use with a simple UI. I'm not noticing any real controller lag, and the video seems decent. It'll probably collapse like a house of matchsticks on the day/week it's officially released, though.

They are never going to send me a beta invite :gloomy

I want an invite too.
:fbm

I'm in it on both PS4 and PS3. It's neat.

Somebody's got the jels :umad
Anyhow, aside from touchpad controls (shudder), this should be really cool on the Vita, where any video compression issues won't be so noticeable

How much can you guys talk about?
Is everything free for testing right now? Good selection of stuff?
-
There's about 20 games of various genres, nothing of the blockbuster sort.

Why the fuck are these beta invites even a thing
Just do internal testing like normal people and release it once it works well
Fuck google for starting this trend
Test with 10, 50, or 100 people internally -- or test with 500, 1000, or 10,000 people across actual network conditions on heterogenous hardware? Seems like a no-brainer.

Got an invite! :hyper

Still waiting for an invite. :( Cloud gaming is becoming pretty legit however -- nvidia's GRID in particular was a pleasant surprise. Can't believe I can stream Saints Row 3 and SFxT and play either title on a semi-competitive level without any hitches. Curious to see latency and picture quality on Sony's solution.

i guess getting old has its benefits.

Jaggies? Just take the reading glasses off.

I always misread this thread as "PlayStation now in Beta!"
-
I think it's kind of gross that beta users now have to pay to rent stuff.
Back in the old days, beta testers used to be paid.

For realzies! I remember when I got into the Final Fantasy XI Online beta for PS2, SquareEnix shipped me a FREE early retail copy of the game AND a hard drive AND a PS2 network adapter, all of which I got to keep forever.

What the hell. I've been doing the whole MMO beta test thing since Ultima Online / Meridian 59 / Asheron's Call and never got shit.
