Title: Best method to clean monitor?

This is more directed at our resident Apple afficionado, TVC, but I want to clear up some of the smudges and fingerprints on the monitor but I'm not sure what to use or what would be safe.  What is your method?

for crt, windex.
for flat/lcd they sell little wipes that are safe for them.
