i'm just watching this video for illmatic :yeshrug
-
I would have thought Tory Lane didn't mind black guys based on her movies.
-
I still don't understand this video. I'm going to preface this by stating that this isn't a rhetorical question to play devil's advocate and hint that there may be more than meets the eye here, but why would starting his car scare her kid and set her off in such a comically psychopathic way? Well, I guess there is the obvious possibility that she's simply a crazy racist, but still.
-
Yeah, there are some gaps here, but on the other hand, she didn't argue that his car didn't scare her children in her twitter tirade.
-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxfY5UTUHSA
Man. So many contradictions between this, the twitter tirade and the original video. She's really digging herself a hole.
-

The teeth, the wrist tattoos, the Dollar General with the three kids, talking about how she stripped for lots of cops, the lawyer threat, calling the husband that will beat this guys ass or she will, suburb of Buffalo, etc.
Seems plausible to me :yeshrug

Whew. Proof once again that the United States of America is rapidly spiraling out of control. The lack of respect and failure to understand boundaries is sealing our doom. We are becoming a nation of narcissists. If the woman felt wronged in the parking lot, she could have simply snapped a photo of the guy's license plate and moved on. Or, if she weren't such a blithering idiot, she could have used her cell phone to record the man. Then we'd have dueling videos, which would prove my point about the country going nuts.
But why should this surprise us? The racists in the Republican Party and on talk radio and Fox News, with their coy expressions and code words, are fueling this atmosphere of racism and hate. Their mutual lack of respect for President Obama as a human being has filtered down to the loons among us. They think they have carte blanche to toss around words that no civilized person should use.
It's a shame that this happened in our community, but the New Racism is not relegated to a strip mall in tacky Cheektowaga. It's everywhere, and some members of the media give credence to it by not sharply and strongly condemning this racism. That moron Phil Robertson on Duck Dynasty would never have been let back on the show if cable network executives didn't care only about pandering to the lowest common denominator.
The Buffalo News has a moral and ethical obligation to editorialize about the New Racism, which is just the Old Racism with more exposure. The News must condemn it and include fair and balanced criticism of this grotesque parking lot encounter.

Goddamn esch you FUCK :lol

She's probably a GAF mod.

"I'm not a racist. I have a black cousin."

Only a GAF member would call the police over someone starting a car.
"Someone started a car and it startled my kids. Did I overreact?"

"Men are such pigs. This guy probably considers himself a 'nice guy' and was wearing a fedora."
"No way, I would have pulled him out of the car and wrecked him up."
"Who goes to Dollar General?"
"This would never happen in Europe, what's wrong with America?"

The whole white race just took an L on this one. :fbm

That radio interview also contradicts what she said on the phone during a local news interview there. Didn't say anything about what he supposedly did and just wanted to apologize.
Just another ignorant distinguished mentally-challenged fellow getting caught being stupid.
Usually it's the white woman rolling up her window and locking the doors on the black guy, not the other way around.
:lol Yeah, I chuckled a bit when he did that after she said she was going to throw her coffee.

you've clearly never grown up around crazy white trashy types. :lol ime, it takes absolutely nothing to set them off or make them say some crazy racist shit. like my grandmother in law ranting about n-words spreading like flies because there was a family in front of her at the grocery store (when ofc she has like 5 kids who are all disasters of humans), or every single family get together I have ever been to :-\
listening to her radio show interview/explanation just seals it for me. I'm having flashbacks >:(

This is an important data point in Greater Unified L Theory. Rap physicists have theorized for years now that listening to Nas actually creates small "Loss" bubbles in time-space where nearby matter is exposed to unfortunate events and misfortune of all kinds. In this case, a young professional gentleman started up his car whilst listening to Illmatic and was instantaneously sonned by a 55 year old mother of two cac stripper with grand canyon stretchmarks.

The other night I was at the taco stand by my house and this drunk sorority looking girl told the one black guy in line he needed to control people cutting and he was confused and then she said "you're the security guard right" and he was like what the fuck, because I'm black and she said "yeah, that's usually the only job you guys can get". Unfortunately there was no black girls there to whip her ass :'(
He handled about as well as anyone could though, and the place wouldn't serve her tacos.

Watching that video is the same kind of feeling I get when I watch some WSHH brawls. I feel gross and feel like I gained nothing from it. If anything, it chips away (a tiny bit) at my future hope for humanity.
I wonder why these things go viral when they do absolutely nothing towards making the world a better place. If anything it just encourages more people with shitty generalizations in their heads. We all know this shit goes on in small places with small-minded people, but there isn't really much discussion to be had here.
Is it just sitting around and waiting for the public shaming to kick in? Then we feel like some justice is done and the world is a better place. Is that the pull?

He may not have done it for YouTube hits, but he definitely escalated it by even interacting with her. He starts recording, and has her repeat what she said? What is this, Sesame Street? Why is the situation going on that long anyways? He knows she's crazy, so why keep interacting? Instead of defusing the situation by just ignoring her, he sits in his car, recording from his phone, rolls the windows up when she grabs her coffee? That's not ballin'.
And he's listening to Nas while he does it. :tocry
I guess I have less of an issue with him and more with the record everything element of modern society. The only legitimate reason i see him recording it is to use as evidence in case he's taken to court.

People can't do anything about racism, so they leak her facebook page, possibly her address, and social security number while insulting her (allegedly fake account) on twitter and end up thinking they somehow won something.
The same outrage stuff happened with Donald Sterling and RuPaul.

That's understandable. But rewatching it, the first thing he mentions is that she called him a distinguished black fellow in front of her kids. Not that she's calling the cops. More than that, he won't shut the fuck up, and mentions that she calls him a distinguished black fellow multiple times until she explodes. It feels like he added fuel to the fire. Which may or may not work in his favor if this goes to court.

If some psycho calls the cops on me about a situation where I've done nothing wrong, I'd probably sit put, start rolling, and show them the tape when they got there, as opposed to leaving and potentially having them show up at my door with only my side of the story. Never take chances with cops.

What have we learned from this video? I haven't learned a thing. I already know there's morons in Buffalo, NY. So there's no reason for me to get emotionally invested and vindictive because some chick calls a dude a distinguished black fellow. Is this going to improve race relations? Are white people and black people going to hug it out? Are we even going to remember this incident by the end of this week? Probably not. Are people going to stop calling black people distinguished black fellow? Fuck no. No need to get bent out of shape about it. He's black, sometimes you're going called to be a distinguished black fellow. I sure as fuck am not going to record it when that happens. Donald Sterling was leaked bad mouthing black people just the other week. Have racists denounced their views since? Likely not.
So tell me what the point in even remotely discussing the racist woman is?
The only thing I can relate to now is being called a distinguished black fellow, which is an experience I share. And I flat out disagree with the man's response even if that makes me a "contrarian."

In the video it says HE'S calling the cops. She says,"please do."
According to the video, her kid got scared after he turned his car on. And she's going to call the cops after that? Either there's more to the story, or she's full of shit.

I don't care about this either. But then I'm not making the claim that the guy is in the wrong either. Nor saying how somebody else should handle when something racist is directed at them. But you definitely feel comfortable doing this.

I'm not about to ignore my white privilege and pretend like I know more about how to cure racism in this country than you do, but I do think there's some value in episodes like this just in terms of making it transparently clear that we're not in a post-racial country. Now, obviously, nobody but naive idiots and/or racists thinks that racism is a product of yesteryear that has been completely eradicated, but I do think some people out there unironically cite examples like the election of a black president and want to think that the worst is mostly behind us. Sometimes it takes a crazy woman at the Dollar General store to highlight to those people that despite how far they may think we've come, there's still a long way to go.

Videos like these are sort of the equivalent of accident rubber necking. It's rare that you see somebody blatantly racist and not afraid to show it. On most levels its not very interesting because any halfway intelligent person knows this type of mindset exists.
The general "normal" behavior is to condemn the action and just move on to the next internet thing that will consume us for another 5 minutes. And then there's Himuro's approach.

Since this won't single-handedly end American racism, we shouldn't talk about it. Okay.

Didn't say that, but a lot of the responses are overly dramatic and unnecessary. Such as posting her personal information. On places like the coli, people are requesting violence. It's like people people think racism is an excuse to be a cunt.

Himu, if you had said "people need to calm down and stay away from doxxing or violence as a response to this" nobody here would've had a problem.
Instead you were all "this guy is the definition of bitch made." So if we're talking about "unneccesary" responses...

silly things
we shame people like this because it shows others that you shouldnt act like this, and that you can suffer consequences if you do. makes racists look stupid, and makes people like the dude who film the video feel good because now he was able to throw shit back at her like she did him.
like ive said before, it dont matter how you carry yourself or what you do; white people need no justification or provocation to be racist. its just how a lot of us are. and if you can ignore it than good for you, but its not gonna go away because of that.

I remember having a similar confrontation over parking back then when I was in college. Eerily similar in fact (empty threats, flipping out in front of kids), except that she called me a beaner (wrong racial slur; then again Filipinos are asian Mexicans, so I guess she's right) multiple times. At some point I just stopped jawing back at her and smiled at her blankly. This pissed her off even more and she shoved me down, which led to the loss protection guy tackling her and taking her out back in handcuffs, which was a pretty funny sight and something I'll never forget.
I guess my point is, if cellphones/YouTube had existed back then I had done the same exact thing as that dude did. Makes for good evidence in case shit does hit the fan, and at least something funny to show your friends. There really isn't a better way to handle these types of situations except to stay calm and let the other party escalate the situation to make it worse for them. Simply laughing and driving away isn't really an option, because the story can easily be twisted unless there are enough witnesses to back you up.
-
I for one, am sick and tired of people deducing what is racist and what isn't and how black people should act and how they shouldn't, and what their interests should be and what they shouldn't be especially when their exposure to real black people is very slim at best, as if one people are one entity. It always comes off as thinly veiled racism to me, even if used jokingly.
Himuro has her thing, Beezy has his thing, Wrath has thing, and lennedsay has her thing.
So the next time The Business makes a post about his goddamn wardrobe I'm going to make fun of him for trying to be a girly metrosexual since he has a set of balls and fashion is for girls. And I'm going to drill this into his head every time he posts something that goes against the male status quo. Because you know, that's funny as shit and not obnoxious, right? But you see, notice how people only make these observations about what's "racist" as if they have certain expectations. And they'll try to convince you they're not racist.
I have to see this shit as it is in real life, please stop bringing alleged racist into online conversations on a nerd message board that stands as one of few institutions where I can feel comfortable "opening up".

THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO TELL HIMU.
Have you guys tried explaining it in her native tongue?
-
I didn't realize until they were talking about it on the radio this morning that this happened in my area. I'm from North Buffalo lol.
-
I'll put this in a much nicer way.
Even if she called the cops, he should have walked away. Walking away is more than just bailing. He could have simply rolled his windows up. By taking his phone out and recording, he puts himself in the situation, which enhances it, and gives her even more reason to get heated since she now has attention. Contrary to what Positive Touch said, do we have any evidence that playing the society laughing game ever works on people like this? He wanted to record to show the police in case they came? Fine. He didn't have to upload it to Youtube. Now, everyone in America knows who Janelle Ambrosia is and we barely anyone even know the dude's name who recorded it. Since he uploaded the video, yes, people have laughed at her. But it also has given her a position and soap box to stand on. She also has a defense force. Like Toxic Adam said, unlike enforcing social contract we all sign up for, it instead reinforces the prejudices these people already had while giving them the attention they desperately crave. See: George Zimmerman and his family. Ambrosia is no longer a divorced single mother of two who looks like she's 50 at age 29. She's now an internet pariah, which is some claim to fame. This hasn't taught her or her comrades shit, and instead of being the better man, and rolling up his fucking window, we now have another psuedo-celebrity whose status is from being a bitch and a racist.
Bravo.
And that's why he's a bitch ass nicca.

It took you 24 hours to come up with that weak shit?
:beli
Who cares that he recorded a video, everyone records stuff these days. Meltdowns are often caught on smartphones - this just happened to be a racist meltdown. I'm glad she's getting exposed, and the fact that people agree with her has no bearing on whether the video should have been released. It could have been inadvertently recorded by a third party and there would be plenty of white people defending her, it doesn't matter who recorded it.
