We have arrived!:what
This is a day many of us were waiting for. Today, all fans of the popular PSP game “Final Fantasy Type-0″ can finally enjoy it in English. It’s been a lot of time and hard work by a wonderful team of hackers, translators and editors. After one year and a half, the result of the project is perfectly understandable, and more importantly, enjoyable.
Even though the original release date was in August, the localisation patch has reached a state where it can be perfectly played just like any other official release.
I actually wanted to hold the release a little bit longer, since there are some aspect, such as some dates in videos, that still need to be edited. However, this is a completely unimportant matter that in no way affects gameplay, or the overall experience at all. Moreover, I don’t see the point in making the entire fanbase wait even longer just for that.
So head to the project page, where you’ll fin the download link for the automatic patcher, and some extra, useful information. As always, I appreciate you feedback. I hope you all have a good time playing this game that, for many, is the true Final Fantasy XIII. Thanks to all the fans, and specially, Operation Doomtrain.
Regards ~ Sky
The automatic patcher is all you need to translate your copy of Final Fantasy Type-0. Just make and ISO dump of either UMD (you can also use the Merged ISO) and select it after clicking the “patch” option. Then choose where to save the patched ISO Image and wait for the patcher to generate it. Simple as that ;):
The guide on the blog says that you only need EITHER UMD then you just patch and you're good to go. Is that right? Can save me some time if I only just need a single UMD to patch.QuoteThe automatic patcher is all you need to translate your copy of Final Fantasy Type-0. I would play this again if it was as simple as put the patch file on the memory card as your PSP just plays the UMD. I never hacked my PSP and am not going to now.
Either way, I'm not that interested in playing the game again. It wasn't that great the first time. I did'nt understand the story sure, but I doubt that's going to help the shitty rts and tedious battle system.

Hasn't that been out for a while?

Because you have no friends and you made it up

No. Maybe it was in beta? I don't remember.
Completion projection based on this week: 3 weeks!
Start dusting off your PSPs.
I had to leave the house for a bit. Back now and working on patching this thing. Have to move the files to a Windows laptop though. ugh.
Demi, how big is the final patched .iso?
maybe your friend was talking about SE's English translation
It's basically finished and sitting on the shelf afaik

Whatever, too little, too late. I already pirated it so once I finish Persona I can get into this.
I will say the tutorial is badly managed though. They don't talk about the basic attack (to regain MP) until you've done like five other things before it. WTF, Square (that is if the translators didn't completely botch the order)
I think you misunderstand. "On the shelf" means it's not coming out. I think the idea was if the Vita managed, against all hopes, to perform well in English markets that they would pursue that avenue. It didn't, and now I think the only chance of that script seeing use is in a mobile port down the line.
I dont think them telling you about MP later is a big deal... tutorial is fine.
Since I never really kept up with this after the first few trailers, seeingspoiler (click to show/hide)a Chocobo rip a throat out, take a head shot and die in a pool of gore was pretty unexpected in the first 10 minutes.[close]
Reason 2 (of 3): I don’t like violent, gory, grim-dark games. Never have, never will. Bombs, gunshots, dead civilians, soldiers stabbing each other in the gut, blood splattered everywhere, and the only colors the designers know are brown, red and yellow. I seriously want to puke. The intro, especially, is just nasty. Some injured guy stumbles from gory disaster to gory disaster until the enemies finally, bloodily put him out of his misery. Even then it takes him like 5 minutes to die, bawling the whole time about how he doesn’t want to die. I was wrinkling my nose in disgust and cringing at the cheesiness the whole time.

Originally released in Japan in 2011 for the PlayStation®Portable handheld entertainment system, FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 will be coming to the West as an HD remaster for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft.
Why no vita?
Update (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/06/10/final-fantasy-type-0-hd-coming-to-ps4/#sf3255743): An earlier headline for this post stated that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS Vita, which was incorrect. Type-0 is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe.

I'm pretty sure they had this planned before this week, magoose
I wonder what it will even look like on PS4.
Am I missing something? I thought it was well known this game is mediocre at best. I specifically remember Bebpo saying that it was more or less shite.

Gaf's most credible insider and foremost titanic expert says there will be a physical release and "don't expect much optimization."She couldn't even tell us that this was happening or that 15 wasn't going to be E3. Why the hell does FF GAF cling to her every word, she's never provided actual noteworthy info.

Another salty Vita fan here. SUCK GLASS AND CHOKE

Tales of Vesperia was the best traditional console jrpg of last generation.
Please think on this and as to why.
I figured people had come to terms with jrpgs being a predominantly portable industry now.
This is still just a port, and it doesn't sound very traditional. Kinda like Peace Walker, you can take the turd from a portable but it's still a turd.
how has scea managed to have so many stupid arbitrary policies for almost twenty years now
I'm glad it's coming to a home console, even if its one I don't own yet. Couldn't SE easily have bundled Type-0 and Crisis Core for a PS3 release to get around the SCEA policy tho?
Gackt?
That game is actually pretty decent.Gackt?

still debating to play this now or wait for a version that will hopefully have tweaks + a hard mode added, as squeenixs other psp games did
also thinking it will prolly be years til i can afford a new system anyway, so even if i do play thru it now i wont remember it by the time i get the remake
I guess another good thing about this is that I see Grand Knights History has an English patch as well. That game seems very fun and you can already play a bit of it without it being in English, but it's of course nice to know whats going on.I'm so happy I came across this thread. I bought a Vita just to play GKH, because the proper localization wasn't shitcanned at the time. Totally grabbing the PSP Go and firing that shit up on the weekend.
It happens all the time with GAF.Hey man. Two of those games were good.
See: Operation Rainfall.
Type 0 seems like an ok game from the time I've put into it both times, just not something that will radically change the series rep or anything.
