Squiddy, tip: we aren't gaf in that we make a new thread for every news post.
As androgynous as that was, I still feel confident in saying that Link or not, whoever was shown is in a fact male.Unless it was Zelda in disguise.
It's Link, Link always looked feminine. It's not like Nintendo is going to be progressive about this. So stop trolling Squiddy, it's annoying.

Maybe post-op.
Do most people expect this to slip to 2016? If so, I'm guessing they'll just move it to wii3. I can't imagine the Wii u lasting more than 4 years.Zelda TP scenario could happen again.

I forget did you play Ocarina of Time? Remember Sheik?
I don,'t I play zelda games for story.:dead
I play zelda games for story.
More like fanservice and references to older games. You know, Nintendo's M.O.
No, I don't know it. Aonuma definitely does operate and makes these Zelda games tie into other ones. Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword all point back to (forward to?) Ocarina.
Where some of the smaller and older games fall I think is something the team doesn't really care about, but ever since Ocarina, they definitely care.
anyway, the main character is totally 100% a female. I bet andrex' account on it.

Lulz, I'll play. If the character in the trailer is female I'll take a month off from the Bore.
where da titties at tho
I'm going to guess it's a more grown up version of Link's sister (Aryll?) That would explain why she looks like a feminine Link.

Always great when Magus flexes his nerd muscles by calling other peoples representation in games stupid.
There's nothing wrong with this new Link being a girl if true, but everyone is basing this off of absolutely nothing.

You know what? I'm with you on this one. Ban me for a month if Link turns out to be a girl.

Q: What are your reactions to everyone's reactions to the Zelda Wii U reveal?
Eiji Aonuma: Because I have been at E3, I haven't had much time to spend in doing this research, but I certainly have been checking fan reaction and I am really excited many comments have said how beautiful the game looks. The designers have been working really hard to make sure the visuals look like something players don't expect, or maybe something they haven't seen before, and this applies to not just to the scenery, but to the enemies and things like that.
Another interesting comment I've heard, quite frequently actually, is that, "Oh Link's a woman. Link is female now."
Q: I thought that, too. I thought maybe it was Zelda when I first saw Link on Epona in the distance.
Eiji Aonuma: That might be something that consciously we kind of did, but not to say anything specific – I am not saying anything specific – but, I am hoping people continue to comment, and I will continue to follow the fan comments and reactions to the trailer. I am certainly curious, and I am sure there are things we as developers can glean.
"Many people from the media kept asking me if the footage from the new Zelda game for Wii U is just a promotional movie, but that really is actual gameplay on Wii U."
"It seems like it has kind of taken off where people are saying 'oh it's a female character' and it just kind of grew. But my intent in saying that was humour. You know, you have to show Link when you create a trailer for a Zelda announcement."
Well in that case those gigantic jew bangs look mighty gay.
...There's nothing to indicate this. :lol
And Link's design is AWFUL is he's supposed to be male. Keep the hood on, PLEASE.
skyward sword design was not manly but the blue shirt does link no favors in this new game. The hood makes him look great. Without, it's terrible. And Tales of games often don't have good designs.
The main male character design for Tales of Zetria is awful. It's like they did Yuri Lowell, with its excellence, and decided to go with an 180.
I like his TP design. Skyward Sword design sucks but isn't offensive. For some reason, his new design looks terrible to me.
New Link looks better in that shot you posted.
Ugh. Looks terrible now we know Link's not female. Simply awful.
I don't think you two are talking about the same thing. You are talking about the style he's drawn in, Himuro is talking about what is drawn.
Himuro why do you care so much
Long bangs, you mean? Japanese hair styles favor them, probably since most people have super straight hair here.Yeah. So, same reason as weird hair colours, huh?
Even now that he's "clarified," Aonuma's still being coy. Something's up, and...

The chance to see Himu melt down over and over about this until the game is released and Link is proven 100% as male might be more entertaining than the game itself :whew

Hear me out without prejudice.
What if Link transforms into a female version of himself in this game?
one of the many things i learned from gaf that i never wanted to learn
