Anyone have any suggestion on neighborhoods to stay in that might be nice? I was thinking of flying out, but the drive sounds kinda fun to me. It also gives me an excuse to rent an awesome car.

What days did you guys get? I went for all 3 just incase. I'm super excited :D

Me in my friends were trying to find a place to stay in Philly for Made in America at the end of August and every Airbnb host we tried pulled that same shit on us. Lol at them actually thinking people going to a music festival would be willing to pay up that much. None of the locations that we wanted have been booked so far for that weekend.

Airbnb has been great for everyone I've talked to, but I've not been having much luck with it. I forwarded the message and my complaint to Airbnb though so we'll see if they decide to do anything about it. What I find hilarious about it is that it's perfectly ok to do shit like that and people can't do anything about it.

I'm still looking at hotels right now, trying to debate if I want to bring the missus with me or not.

Seems like a normal practice there. We got a hotel room for now as a backup. If one of the airbnb spots goes back to normal price a couple days before the festival, then we'll switch back to that.

Anyone scoped out any local things to do or places to get together at?

Looking at the floor show in comparison to other PAX's it looks to be a disappointment. My expectations were low to begin with, but there are barely any games on the floor.

Getting everything in order for the long roadtrip, only to find out Hotels.com fucked up and both my reservations don't have self parking. That seriously pissed me off because both still were being shown under "free parking." I haven't gotten a resolution from them about what can be done about it. This trip keeps getting more and more expensive, but I'm so looking forward to it.

I had to make sure the missus was ok at home and found a nice local delivery (Munchery.com) service to bring her food every day from some awesome SF chefs while i'm gone. That is costing more than the damn valet parking will, but who cares its only money.

Saturday night I had planned to see Norm Macdonald and saw the gspot crew because Dan brought them. After looking for parking for an hour I went out to a club called the Kremlin. Where there was the cheapest bottle service I'd ever seen. Some chic's were promoting safe sex and handing out condoms and vibes dressed in angel and devil outfits. I was appropriately wearing my red shirt. Ended up hobbling to my hotel and crashed hard.

Last night was nuts at the Alamo ice house. We gambled and drank $2 pints, all in all a great night watching wwe. I got so shit faced that walking back was kind of an issue. I've been nursing the toilet since off and on.

I've had no luck with service here, but data seems to work more reliably. I tried calling your guys hotel to leave a message. I'm sorry guys :'(

I'm getting my ass together to get out of here. It was a pleasure to meet yalls. Next year will be bigger and better and have more bore members!

We did stop at another place, which I dont have the name of unfortunately. This place was AMAZING. Crammed wall to wall full of games. Literally any rare expensive game you wanted, they had. Unfortunately, this place was run by hoarder ebay reseller assholes who knew what they were doing. We asked about a copy of Majora's Mask (loose) and was immediately thrown a price of $100. I shot a look at everyone and was like - "we out" - made small talk with them to get a feel, and they just came across as stuck up dickrubbers. I didnt even want to bother looking, nothing was priced and I certainly wasnt going to sit there for 20 minutes asking prices for individual games.

I know Bz took pictures of this place, so maybe he can post when he is able to.

I would have recommended seeing a movie at the Drafthouse if you guys don't have one where you're from(it's in the same shopping center as Game Over) but pretty much every movie out right now sucks ass.

Place is ok... I'd say its probably better than Five Guys for sure, mostly because I think Five Guys proportions are out of wack.

Not the most enticing place, but its up there with Wendys for sure.

It's actually a pretty boring burger compared to a greasy/flashy In and Out or Five Guys but it's dependable, not too expensive, the restaurants are usually clean and hospitable and it doesn't feel actively toxic like trash tier burgers at McDonalds/Burger King/Jack in the Box.

My main issues with PAX were:

- Lack of particpants, the only big guys were Gearbox and Nintendo
- Small venue. Everything to see was pretty much right there. The tabletop/Magic area was way bigger and nobody really used that.
- Panels were wholly uninteresting.

Award for worst thing I saw at PAX:

- Giantbomb panel

The Gearbox crew I got to hang out with and meet were all awesome. Didnt get to meet Randy, but I'm not really about that hand shaking fake life. I talk to the real heroes, yo.
