Pretty much everything in the Trader Joe frozen section is really good. I think their tamales and potstickers are my favorites.

Only 6 Trader Joe's located in all of Ohio. :(

Hey, I just turned 40. There is still hope for me to turn it around.

Going to a Sara Bareilles concert this month, though. Maybe I am doomed.

A wine. Usually you add butter and/or flour to it to make it a sauce.

Honestly I don't eat this shit anymore but in my early twenties I basically survived off it. Went like four years without eating a home cooked meal made from scratch. I'm a miracle I didn't end up morbidly obese.

Yea, I won't mess with that Banquet stuff. Gives me elementary school flashbacks.

Frozen food has improved in the past 5 years.

While I don't care much for frozen meals, I eat frozen food all the time.

Frozen springrolls, frozen mozarella sticks, frozen pizzas, frozen vegetables (healther than fresh vegetables!), frozen veggie stuff, etc, etc.

frozen vegetables (healther than fresh vegetables!)

lol believe nonsense big food sells you, brehs

It's because the freezing process encapsulates all those vitamins and micronutrients when teh vegetable is in prime condition, so that you consume it at its freshest state as opposed to "fresh" vegetables that have usually been exposed to dirty oxygen for several days before it gets eaten.

Also plain frozen vegetables are mostly just as healthy as non frozen.

Frozen meals are trash, of course, but amongst the trash if I have to pick I'd go with any one of them that uses the steamer design, where the steam from the sauce cooks the pasta or what have you.

Also, premade burger patties is disgusting and not even much more convenient. Throw some spice in a bowl with meat and roll balls, really that hard bros?

Eh, taste is not the problem but texture is bad with most frozen vegetables. Okay for gratin or quiches.  :yeshrug

yea, if you shove it bareback into a bowl in the microwave. But if you boil the bag or use a microwave steamer it brings them back to life.*

* - except for broccoli. Nothing tops fresh.

I'll eat frozen veggies when I'm feeling lazy, but I never just boil them. I'll saute them or something, to give them more flavor. But usually if I want veggies I whip out my fresh mushrooms, carrots, brocolli, etc and chef something up.

The meat in those cheap frozen dinners is some of the most heinous "food" I've ever encountered, just absolutely nauseating.

I love those frozen meals that can crisp up breading with space-age foil.

Yea, those are pretty good. Flatbreads seem to do better than regular breads. Lean Cusine and Stouffers makes a panini that uses that foil, but the results aren't so great.

I don't know if they're still around but like over a decade ago I liked those french bread pizzas.  hot cheese top, cold soggy in the middle, hard dry wooden crusts.  the eight different textures took you on a journey.  also marie callender's fettuccine alfredo.  a bit like rubberbands in undiluted condensed mushroom soup, but it came in a premium paper tray.  none of that plastic shit.

i'll only touch frozen peas and broccoli and that is only after they've been pan fried in ghee/butter or roasted in the oven -- who the fuck microwaves or steams their vegetables? i've also found that whole foods frozen vegetables and fruits are on another level when compared to the standard shit you find at other grocery stores. frozen spinach is mostly disgusting but their whole leaf organic spinach is more than fine when used to make palak/saag paneer.

all the other frozen vegetables taste like shit.
