i'm talking about... fishing videogames!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEyw-mzAYUY
back on the day, i owned this for psx, i played this way too much considering how simple the whole game is (it was the video of the river streaming, i swear)
the funny thing is that i had no idea how to beat it, heck i'm not even sure you could beat it!
wii had a lot of fishing videogames, truly the saving grace of the system

Only fishing game I've ever played is Legend of the River King on the GB, lol.
-
I strangely loved fishing in World of Warcaft. I had this friend who would fish with me. We had this whole fishing outfit, made of civilian ataire basicly. Go out to several lakes fish and talk like old men....................in WoW.
-
Fishing is one of those things that I love in real life, but bores me to death in videogames.
Sitting on a river in Alaska in a boat with my Dad drinking a beer for ten hours. So much fun.

Best fishing game was the Dreamcast one with the fishing rod controller. I played that more than I care to admit.
i've seen that on steam and stuff and I just don't know if it's worth getting without the rod.
-
that's on my list, to see if the Wii version of Sega Bass Fishing is any good.
I mean, it sounds kind of idiot proof on paper, and Sega did make a darned good Wii port of HOTD2&3. On the other hand, it is Sega we're talking about here.

I got no clue if Densha is the same as the "simulators" on Steam, but there is Train-focused titles out there, IIRC. Not many but a few.
(Also what is with the Japanese's fascination with trains? I mean I like them all well and good and all but... to the point... of loving them? I dunno, man)
-
Is it because of Japan's size and they rely on trains that much more often?
-
Finally, Breath of Fire gets its due recognition

Wasn't the rail system a big job motor in the post-war period? Could have something to do with it, but I'm sure affordable country wide travel was a big deal in and of itself. There's the TGV vs. Shinkansen rivalry, too. That's gotta be a big point of national pride.
We've got railway crazies here in Germany too, with model train fanatics and people photographing trains, though I think the latter is much more popular in Japan. Best form of travel, as far as I'm concerned. Morning commute excluded.

That's what I've always thought. And seriously, their trains really are awesome.

You guys should watch Tetsuko no Tabi, then you'd understand.
