I hate smoking of any kind (due to my asthma) and I love the tobacco notes you get in wine/chocolate/bourbon.
I used to be against the whole cute/designy label thing, and then I had to sell wine and make a living. Now we have a hipster artist in Berlin who does labels for a few cuvees we bring in. Still good wine, but man the label makes a huge difference.oh I dig unique art on bottles, I know a guy who runs a meadery/winery and they do bottles like this
Everyone buys things because they look nice, why would you be exempt? That's part of the reason i bought that bottle too. 9 bucks and a quick google f the label/vintage made it seem ok too i guess.True.

i'm just talking about the stuff that looks like it's meant for 35 year olds wearing adventure time tshirts and listening to the heavy metal soundtrack :yuck
Ugh, this is my biggest problem too. But the thing about wine is that it feels like there's so many different varieties and growers and vintages it's all kinda pointless to log it since it'll be hard to find it again.Just look at it as a journey. Take chances, enjoy the learning experience, and snap pics on your phone of anything you're enjoying, because you won't remember it, and your handwriting is likely to be crap by the 3rd bottle on any given evening.
I like em dark, heavy, and tannic or spicy. I like Shiraz, Malbecs, Pinot Noir. That's not to say that i don't dislike something lighter, I just tend to prefer those. I will drink a white wine occasionally but all ive had from there are pinot grigios, chardonnay, white sangria and gewurtztraminer. Would definitely be willing to expand all over in that regard.
edit: and Moscatos, Rieslings and various sparkling wines, too.
just had a steak with some of this, was pretty good.

Can't believe that a post pissing on IPAs got multiple likes :tocry
A beer I've been getting at bars lately is called Tricerahops. I love it.
I only put it in for less than an hour! Ok so no chilling...
I love wine, and I've fallen in love with small boutique bottles.

I really hate all the "metal" influenced brewery logos, beer names and bottle art.
As for wine, I like malbecs, but I rarely ever drink the stuff anymore.
Next to the Barefoot line?
Btw this app is great for tracking the wines you try: https://www.vivino.com
Drank a bottle of Merlot from a nearby wine farm Saturday, my face turned into warm jelly, so good :lawdhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiOuroHPxRQ
Then my friend tried to push some Shiraz on me :gurl
Suffice it to say, we are no longer wine friends.
australians are the worst thing to happen to the universe since the big bang.
Finished off a box of Corbett Canyon with my roommate while watching a three hour Bollywood movie until 3:15am :rock

I tried blueberry wine today. Might pick up some of that...
This is the first product from Kuvée, a young startup out of Boston. There are really two parts to it: the bottle, and the wine cartridge that fits inside it, slid in through an opening at its base.
Using the bottle's touchscreen, you can browse and purchase the other wines available through Kuvée. At launch, there are 48 wines from 12 wineries.
Preorders for the Kuvée Bottle begin today, with shipments beginning in October. At launch, the product will only be available in two states, California and Massachusetts (California is where Kuvée bottles its wine; Boston is where Kuvée is based).
I thought this was a The Wire thread for a second and was like "who the fuck are Malbec and Shiraz?"
Had my first Vermentino today :dahellLove a good vermentino. Some of the best come out of Sardinia. If that's your jam try some trebbiano as well.
This is the weirdest style of wine I've ever tried. I hated it on the first sip. It has this really bizarre mix of acidity and savoriness ??? But I kept trying more of it and it was interesting. Got this combination herbal grapefruit flower thing going on that I didn't expect at all.
Actually pretty good with food. I don't see myself buying this a lot, but would get a more expensive / rated version if I had a particular meal in mind.
