apparently this comes out in less than a week (much to my surprise)
anyway if you like tower defense and haven't played the first game its pretty good
preordering the game gives you a defense grid 1+dlc key (and beta)
I dont need my keys so does anyone want em?
pm me an email to send em to
-
I liked the first one. Will put on Steam wishlist and then promptly forget about it.
-
Beat the first game on my old shitty laptop. Will definitely get this, but I'm not sure when.
-
I loved the first game but I have hardly done the DLC (shit is hard).
-
I've had it since the closed beta came out in June or whenever, then pre-ordered because of discount, they haven't updated too much since then. There's more stuff to upgrade on your towers, and the levels can change shape, and you can add/move platforms. None of the various commander powers are in or anything.
They just added in controller support last week. Workshop is up but you can't download anyones maps yet.
It seems slightly easier than the original, but I guess the two maps in the original's demo were pretty easy too.

The struggle is real.

One of my favourite games ever, completely forgot it was out so soon

OK who wants this? I'll give out some copies

616MB update just came out, but no change log... :leon :gladbron
You can be sure that the beta was the smallest taste of the overall game that we could provide so as to stay away from too many spoilers, and that the game has 21 levels of story content, around 10 to 12 challenge modes for 20 of those levels, and three multiplayer modes including the ability to play everything in the game with two people, either locally or online. We're looking forward to playing the game, solving the levels our own particular way, and comparing how we're doing to our friends. We hope you have fun with the game as well.
Those people who pre-ordered the game (and others can until Tuesday morning) will get the game along with many extras, and additional content in the special edition (thank you very much for pre-ordering, we appreciate it). Those extras will be going away on Tuesday and the pre-order discounts will also end.
At this point in time, we project that we'll cross the final threshold if your friends and colleagues continue the pre-order trend, so we expect Matter of Endurance to unlock for the folks who pre-ordered as well. We're happy with how it turned out and hope you'll get to enjoy it.

seems like the full game to me
released early
-
It is. :lawd :rejoice
And they fixed the bug with the fullscreen that was in the last update. (Fullscreen is actually just a borderless window!)
Workshop support not up yet though.

Played 3 hours straight, absolutely loving it. Smashed viz's scores too 8)
Was streaming on twitch, should have posted it.

Only thing I don't like is some of the "mods" for the levels are dumb and not as challenging or cool as they eventually got in the first game. Power outage is kinda meh. And the one where the cursor does damage is really meh.
-
Yeah I saw that and thought "why would I ever want to play that?". I'm hoping they bring back the grinders or whatever they were, some were brutal. They seem to have the limited towers one though.
-
The Grinders and Out of Bullets and some of the others are on later missions, just that first chapter is really limited.

I was wondering what these were. I've just been doing the defualt missions. Do I have you guys on Steam? I'd like to try the multiplayer while everyone is still playing this. My username is Ji3eezy.

Making a corridor of red death and then putting the score boost perk on every single tower along it :lawd
-
The 7th mission has been kicking my ass. I finally realized what I've been doing wrong though. I'll finally beat it later today.
If I'm not able to keep all my cores and at least get silver on a mission, I start over.
-
:lol I wasn't paying full attention on one mission and so was setting up extra boost towers for mazing purposes and didn't realize it until like six guys with cores and like needing one hit left were right at the exit and my panic quick built gun tower didn't pop up until four of them got to the exit. Instant restart.
I forgot the game has a wave/checkpoint restart now.
-
They had wave/checkpoints in the original
-
It did? :leon
-
I had no idea. :lol
Does using it give you a lower score?
-
Nope, I was playing around with tower combos last night on the 11th stage. Got 68th overall which is pretty good considering the hacking going on.

The scoring system has fucked up my DG1 style of putting a bunch of towers at the start and killing shit quickly. Now I set up level 3 towers near the core to maximise the resource "ticks". Level 11 & 12 are pretty simple once you work out that extravagant pathing with level 1 guns doesn't work as well as it did in DG1.

Yes, this was my main issue once I got to level 7. I think I pooped on your level 8-10 scores btw. :tophat
-
Holy shit I just realised that the command shuttle lets you raise some of the tower locations :mindblown

I can't even see your scores for level 8-10
-
Weird. I'll check when I get home.

Some of them it locks in place so you can't build/upgrade any towers on the part you've moved.
Any that it adds you can definitely build on, it's the ones that it moves.
-
I have no idea what you two are talking about.
-
The "shuttle" that lands in every level, you can click on it and on most maps it has extra platforms and stuff you can buy, often in good spots. In some cases you can also move platforms from one spot to another, on maps that have multiple levels of heights sometimes you can move some from lower to above, etc. Costs resources like anything else.
-
:ohhh
-
I don't think any of the "mandatory" dialogue even mentions it until like the 15th map or something. One of the ones that was in the beta. :lol
-
Great game. Thanks again G.
pilonv you keep beating my score by like 2000-3000. fuck you.
You other guys should add me so I can beat at least someone.
-
I still haven't figured out how the resource laser works?
-
shit got hard at level 7ish?
-
When there's a big swarm of dudes or a boss about to die going through one of your high fire areas, fire the resource laser on them, it like doubles the resources you get from everything that dies in its "aura" for all two seconds or whatever that it exists.
-
Add me people! My steam name is TheInfelicitousDandy
-
I already told you fucks to add me if you have this on Steam. Ji3eezy
-
O, I though lasers killed shields and worked well in groups. Level 7 now a breeze.
-
Level 7 is all about cannons and missiles
-
beat you and beezy on level ten. Fuck ya.
-
I only played level 10 once. When I go back I will crush you
-
:( you are going to take my only win from me? You gues all always build like 10 less towers than me :(
-
Check how many I upgrade though
-
I can't see Beezy or Father Mike's scores, what is going on here
Looks like they've got some of the hackers out of the leaderboards though, I have a top 100 score on level 11.
-
Thought I was killing the last level only to realize I lost 4 cores right at the start and didn't notice till wave 30 :(
-
:lol
-
Added a bunch of you guys so I can see how bad I actually am when I don't play on Easy/Normal.
-
I'm about to start hard
-
hard is nice
-
Trying to top Arvie's hard score on the first map reminded me about focusing on wave timings. (Which you have to do to beat the first game and a lot of its DLC, but I had forgotten like I forgot about checkpoints.) I kept coming up like a thousand short, then I popped a green inferno in the middle of the map and that extra fire damage over time seemed to take care of the little things I needed. Reminded me why I use to use random lasers a lot in the first game.
Still only edged ya out by 500 though because of some bad overplacement early on. :lol
Also that first map with missiles available is kinda hilarious.
-
man this game is addicting; my weekend is gone
-
Coop anyone?
-
10th overall on Level 1 hard. Still not entirely sure how to get a good score besides less towers = better
