If they made it so you could combine disney universes then I might be interested. But as it is? No thanks.

What do you mean? That's the whole point of the Toy Box mode.

Really? Maybe I should look at it. I thought I had heard that beyond just basic stuff you couldn't put like the incredibles on the black pearl and such. Maybe I heard wrong?

there are two modes: Play Sets (4-5 hour story campaigns, can only use that Play Set's characters) and Toy Box (do whatever the fuck you want, Minecraft x all Disney characters)

So you can't have Elsa play through the Avengers campaign, but you CAN have her and Tony Stark run around in Toy Box land

IIRC, you can't really alter the pre-built areas. You also have to use the characters that exist in that area.

The sandbox mode lets you have access to all that you own (or unlock).

----

The pre-built areas kind of reminded me of a bad GTA3 clone. Pretty boring stuff, even with two players.

The sandbox mode is a lot more fun, especially with two people.

I'll have to think about it. The main thing is that the kids sort of glutted themselves on Skylanders and really don't have much interest in another portal+action figure game.

You can, but we'll point and laugh at you.

Does Skylanders allow you to build your own landscapes? That's really half-or-more of Infinity: building your own worlds, even creating your own adventures and gameplay with logic building blocks which can act as basic scripting modules.

Yeah, but the kids got Minecraft for that. Sure it doesn't have disney stuff, but they don't really care.

That's what happened with my kids. They were deep into Minecraft/Roblox when they got Infinity and it just seemed too limiting compared to what they were used to.

So, like some toys, they played around with it long enough to see how you can break it or make it do silly things, rather than try to craft some kind of world with it.

Can I get Elsa?

Yeah, oddly, with all the Infinity hype, the first separate PlaySet worlds available were Cars and The Lone Ranger, prior to the movie's release. Frozen was announced and hot on the heels of that, but only offered a bundle of two figures and a Power Disc rather than a full PlaySet.

What don’t you like about it?

keep in mind he's not playing it with his kid
:ohhh

Yeah.

I enjoy the game, but it’s mainly fun to get into a free-for-all on some crazy landmass we just conjured. Also, my son is a terrible griefer. He invites friends over and then gives them just enough control explanation to get them functional before terrorizing them.
