Looks great.
I'll be there for release on steam and I'd like to play it with friends. Anyone?
There's a great preview on RPS.

Unless they fix the initial handling since the beta: No thank you.

I've had a few interactions with this game and I have nothing to say about it that is positive. In my experience if you want this type of game go play test drive unlimited or forza horizon.

CAR VAULT.

any open-world racer suggestions on steam then? i'll be in the mood around xmas. I want to be able to drive in cities and countryside, preferably in California for its country and terrain, hills, and cities (san fran hills). i basically want gta san andreas but just for cars.

Burnout Paradise.
Need for Speeds made by Criterion.
Driver: San Francisco(not sure if this is open world, but people liked this and it's on Steam. It's Ubisoft so it's probably the same guys doing The Crew)
Test Drive(people like this but it seems kind of trashy to me.)
I think those are your options.
What you're actually describing is Forza Horizon 1/2, though.
-
Yeah I really liked the Forza Horizon demo. Oh well. No luck it's going to be ported to steam.
-
i dunno, this game, Forza 2, Project Cars, The Club, might pass on the whole lot of em. last racing game i had fun with was the Driver reboot. not a huge racing fan by any means, but having trouble seeing drastic differences between the various racers coming out.

yeah, the driving handling turned me off the game. the open world is cool and I like how they include the "boring" parts of the country to drive through; highways, long empty stretches of desert, vegas.
