Don't expect much out of Season One, it's basically a different show altogether from S2 onward

They refer back to a couple S1 episodes later on, but for the most part the whole season is pretty skippable if you get bored

Babylon 5 is great. Watched it about 4 or 5 years ago for the first time myself.

The first season is terribad but I wouldn't skip it.  Just suck it down like some foul tasting medicine. It's part of the process and you can marvel at how much better it gets.

Show always has a bit of cheesiness. That was part of the era. But so good if you let yourself get invested.

I've never watched any of Stargate. Not even the original movie.

Every so often I try to talk myself into it, but it hasn't worked yet.

I gave it a movie and a season and some change of trial. I don't see the appeal.

If we're going to go for scifantasy corn movies turned television i prefer Highlander.

But you are missing out on the episodes that Teal'c directs/writes and he gets laid every time. :sabu

In a way I miss farscape more than the other classic sci fi shows because of the humour and sex appeal which nearly all tv sci-fi tries to get rid of. That show embraced it.

That's why I appreciated Firefly. It felt more like Farscape than traditional sci fi.

Watch Lexx

I watched 2 or 3 episodes a long time ago. Very weird show from what I remember not that that is a bad thing.

I'll pick it up again at some point.

Stargate is the best and anyone who says anything different is going to get rape-pranked with my salty balls in their sleeping mouths.

DS9 did jack it hard. Also Babylon 5 is trash.

The captain in the first season had to leave because he was battling schizophrenia. JMS kept it a secret until the actors death.

Oh snap, I forgot the best thing about this. Or resident #1 peddler of the cornball insult is going to be enduring 4 seasons of one Captain John "fucking cornball" Sheridan. :lawd

Starkiller will be Eschkiller. :lawd

I'm still waddling through my re-watch of that, after retrieving my full-series Blu-Ray collection.

Watch Lexx
No. No, no, no. That show is like mid-range Metal Hurlant mixed with Cinemax late night soft core mixed with some college kid's experiment with Amiga Video Toaster.

Wait, that actually might sound like an endorsement. It's not!

I've been trying to remember the name of this for years. I remember when it premiered and there was quite a bit of hype. It came on later in the evening on Saturday iirc and we had to beg to watch it, since my mom always decreed that the TV be turned off after about 3PM on a weekend unless it was a Michigan football game; that didn't stop us from sneaking Xena, Hercules, and Outer Limits tho.
:lawd

It had more blood than any of the other Saturday cartoons and there might have been a "dammit" thrown in too. It wasn't as good as the hype but I liked it overall. Alas I didn't get to watch all the episodes.
