Title: What's the difference between Hearts of Iron III, Victoria II, CK2, EU4

I've never played any games like this. The CK2 sale caught my eye but I can get a quadruple pack for even cheaper. Are all these games basically the same thing, just different time periods and regions?

Yeah, basically, though the newer games tend to have more refined/added features. CKII is great (and EU3) but if you really love a specific time period, I'd go for the one in that era if the prices are comparable. (I haven't played EU4 yet.)

Hearts of Iron is slightly different from all the others because it takes place during WWII so games tend to be more war focused.

EDIT: Also the later period games have larger/stronger states like in real life.

CK2 is $9.99 and the bundle is $9 flat so I'm getting the bundle. Any recommendations for DLC? I have a Victoria DLC bundle in my cart for $3.74 based on remarks from SA.

Oh man at that bundle, I hadn't seen it when I looked at the sale earlier.

CKII has some expansions that add stuff like the rise of Islam or invasions of the Monguls. Plus a lot of cosmetic stuff. I think all the games have a shit-ton of new skins or whatever for units.
