none of this thanksgiving at 6pm bullshit
-
Agreed.
-
Nothing to buy this time around :yeshrug
Yep. Otherwise it's better than family stuff.
Only thing Thanksgiving has is Pumpkin Pie and Turkey.
-
i'm european
mupupu
fuck da knicks
-
Not about to degrade myself or get trampled for some worthless piece of plastic. :heh Like a new Samsung is gonna fill the hole inside me.

Years of working retail on Black Friday means I don't leave my fucking house on that day
:pacspit
-
I don't think anything is worth dealing with massive crowds of insane people. There is no discount I can think of that would make that worthwhile.

:pacspit
I still do. :gloomy
-
Finished my shopping last week :yeshrug
I guess it'll be amusing to see people cooking turkeys on the side of Best Buy
-
Never done BF before, but I'm seriously considering standing in line for that $199 50" Panasonic. The HDMI ports on our 40" living room TV shit the bed, so the only thing we can hook up to it now is the cable box. I have around $100 in BB bux and gift cards, so that thing would only set me out a little over $100. I dunno. I'd feel like an idiot the whole time, but...$100 50" tv...
:yeshrug

"minimum 5 per store"
that means they'll get approximately 6
that probably means i'd have to get there at, like, 9 am to have a chance of getting one

-
9 am? :lol :lol :lol
You already lost.
-
9am on Thursday, you mean.
-
for reference, I had coworkers line up at 3am in north dakota and they still struck out on those crazy tv deals :lol
fuuuuuccck that
-
Yeah, that's what I mean, it's a 5 pm door buster on Thursday.
-
nah

I'm actually on the fence of deciding whether or not I should drive around to various retailers with a hot Starbucks beverage in hand and witness the common savage on a rampage for the latest trinket as if I were an upper-middle class white suburbanite cursed with the inconvenience of driving through an unsavory negro neighborhood.
It would be an interesting study to say the least (http://i.imgur.com/pARf5Km.png)

I support such scientific research :whew

Do it but also incite a riot.

I'll go out on Friday, but not until several hours after the slobbering hordes clambering for the doors to open have already picked up their shiny tchotchkes and left.
-
buying stuff is better than awkward family stuff. I don't really ever buy anything for myself at black friday but I go for friends and family members so that I don't have to go to family gatherings. whatevs.
-
Black Friday for me is "sleep in and laugh at the idiots who stood in line overnight" day. I'll check out some online deals, but I don't care. I don't need to race out to fight for a spot in line to get some shitty $200 TV or whatever other nonsensical material goods idiots are clamoring for.
Years of working retail on Black Friday means I don't leave my fucking house on that day
:pacspit
I remember that shit. My store didn't even do anything for Black Friday but it was still a shopping nightmare.
Working tech support means my job is open -like they will be on Thanksgiving- on Friday, but I'm off so whatever. Seniority, bitches. Not that it will actually be busy there.

We went with a 42" that was on sale, instead. It was $50 more than the 50" Panasonic so it's no monster home theater screen, but at least it's a couple inches bigger than the busted 40" we had, and now I don't have to stand outside like a moron all day.
-
It was hard to pass up paying just $100 out of pocket for a 50" TV, and I probably would have gone for it if they didn't have that "minimum 5 per store" disclaimer.

It may be smaller and a bit more expensive, but I'd pay extra to not have to deal with the chaos to come.

Oh, five per store? Yeah, fuck that. You'd probably have to line up now. :P
Amazon is selling this awesome ASUS 27" monitor for $209 -$90 off- right now, but I will get knocked the fuck out if I buy it. :(
-
but when you wake up there will be awesome waiting for you!

but when you wake up there will be awesome waiting for you!
Nope, just another ninja punch from his Missus.
-
why isn't there a white friday
-
There is nothing I need bad enough to stand in line all day long for. I'd rather spend it with family while eating, drinking beer and watching football in a warm home.
-
The one thing I wanted and have been watching for months now hit 62% off on amazon so I'm done.
-
Nothing really I want to buy this year. Only think I need is to update some clothes.
What is everyone else buying?
-
Picked up a few cheap amazon lightening deals through the week (toys/blu rays). Today I picked up that PS4 bundle with GTA and The Last of Us. :mynicca One happy husband in my house tonight.
My mom is having surgery next week, so he took off basically the whole week to stay home with our daughter (my mom babysits her normally). PS4 comes in Tuesday. :mynicca

$100 for Sennheiser's HD 598 headphones (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042A8CW2/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0042A8CW2&linkCode=as2&tag=thbo09f-20&linkId=KMDLUHFQ2FBGTQ2F)
Probably the best deal I've seen on anything this year, but I went with the AKG K7XX's from Massdrop instead. Got a FiiO E17 from head-direct as well. All I need for this year.

bought. My grado-sr80is are on the fritz and I miss that sennheiser padding that makes sweet love to your ears.
edit: damn those sold out fast!

I'm gonna have to take that TV back for an exchange. There's a large area of some pretty distinct clouding in the upper right corner of the screen, and my eyes are drawn to it during blackout screens and dark scenes. I hear some amount of clouding is pretty normal for LED edge-lit TVs, but this has a bold pattern to it. I thought it might go away after a few days of breaking in, but nope. Can't unsee it :(
I'll take it back sometime during the day next week, though. Fuck going out in all this shit during this weekend.
-
BTW, I live literally two blocks away from the previously mentioned Best Buy, and when we left to go to my folks' house for TG yesterday at 11 am, there were about ten or so people standing outside, so I probably would have had to get there around 9 am and stand there for 8 hours until 5 to get that 50" Panasonic.
-
already got a ps4 and xbo, so none of the brack friday bundurus seem that great :shaq2

I actually did this with a buddy a couple of years ago, albeit on Boxing Day. It was the first Boxing Day I wasn't stuck working and we laughed at all of the hysteria. There was some dumb bastard in best buy trying to direct people to line up for raffle tickets for the last of the door crashers. The shit people will do on these days.

the fuck is a Polaroid brand TV?
-
Yeah, they have Polaroid TVs and tablets. Probably just rebranded cheap Chinese electronics. You primarily see them in places like Big Lots and Kmart.
-
Went out with my Mom. Shopped at Albertsons and a locally owned bakery. Bought a cinnamon roll with a thyroid problem. Had 13 beers and a Kobe beef burger for lunch. Came home having patronized ZERO Black Friday sales.
:punch
-
Spoilers, but in the Christmas episode of Blossom I watched yesterday (for those of you not following every brick lain in my monument to nothing) the kids bought pops a Polaroid camera. (http://i.imgur.com/Iqf0kPJ.png)
-
I bought a couple dress shirts on Amazon and some boxers.
:yeshrug

I went to Target and Kohls last night at midnight. Got a few games and a bunch of random crap I was already eyeing for half off or more.
Got home and hit up some more Amazon deals for some games and blu rays.
Went out this evening to hit up more "50% OFF EVERYTHING" sales - Children's Place and Old Navy for cute kid clothes and jammies and Bath & Body Works for candles.
Spent way too much money in the last 48 hours and I dun even curr. Waiting for the shopping dust to settle and transferring money from the Christmas fund. But about 95% of my shopping is done for our entire family and friends.
-
got the new call of duty for $35 on Amazon then went and shut down some malls because hypocrisy is funny
