The Evil Within (66% off) $20.39
The Long Dark (50% off) $9.99
Company of Heroes 2 (75% off) $9.99
Goat Simulator (50% off) $4.99
Beyond Earth (30% off) $34.99
Watch_Doges (50% off) $29.99
Don't Starve (75% off) $3.74
Lord of the Fallen (40% off) $29.99
Counter Strike GO (50% off) $7.49

Plus lots more random crap. Evil Within seems like the best deal today.

What have you got? The requirements are actually a bit overblown, because I can run it okay with a 750ti and an i5 processor.

...I would just wait until you upgrade. It will be $20 regularly by that point, and it's honestly not that good of a game to worry about having to play it now.

I would expect a 780ti to run it a little netter than just OK.
Last gen's flagship (one of them, anyway) can't be that outdated already. o.o

I'm hoping Trails in the Sky goes on sale for $10 or something. For now, I recommend these three:

Crimzon Clover World Ignition - $3.39 for the 2013 and 2014 GOTY
Gigantic Army - $3 for a good run & gun in the vein of Valken
Gunhound EX - $3 for another good mecha run & gun

And The Evil Within for $20 is another no brainer. Great game.

I haven't tried it with the framerate unlocked, but it seemed to run at a pretty solid 30 FPS.

Bethesda was trying to push some story about needing 4GB of VRAM to run it reliably.

Blizzard has a small sale as well, Diablo 3 and Lords of the Fallen for 20$ each (still expensive), Starcraft 2 and Expansion 10$ each. Grabbed LotF and will probably get vanilla Starcraft 2. Not sure but I guess those sales are relatively rare. Also ridiculous how Diablo 3 and the the expansion are normally more expensive than the console versions although the original game is two years old by now.

Shadow Warrior is $3.99 for another 12 hours; get on that if you haven't already.

Also, not on Steam itself, but since most of the games use Steam keys it's still relevant-- Nuuvem has some crazy deals: http://www.nuuvem.com.br/promo/blackfriday-2014

A lot of these discounts are the cheapest these games have ever been. Metal Gear Rising is only $5, WBIE LEGO games are $3.30 or less (other than LEGO Batman 3, though even that's only around $16), Mortal Kombat is less than $2, Max Payne 3 is less than $3.

So this is all gravy even if you're in North America? I'm tempted to grab MGR and MK, but I don't wanna get some region-locked keys I can't use

is it even necessary to wiki it? I played some of it and figure I might go back to it someday. in the meantime I'd much rather get to 2.

Sale was pretty weak outside of Evil Within.  Some decent $25-35 versions of recent $60 games, but if I'm not buying at $60, I'm looking more at when they his $10-20.

Only thing I bought was some indie game I don't remember for <$3 and Batman Origins for $5 (which it's been for like a year at this point).  Probably pick up final Blackwell game for $5, but otherwise not expecting Winter sale to be any better.  Next big price drops will probably be next spring/summer.

Yeah, feels like all the truly interesting games got "just" 30% pricedrops or so. Might be a good thing for the industry though if games like Destiny aren't already 60% off.
