Title: The Colbert Report final two weeks :tocry
Post by: Himu on December 09, 2014, 11:37:07 PM
I'm going to miss this show. America's greatest satirist since Mark Twain only has 6 shows left in his title show. Let us mourn.

If Colbert becomes just another late night host it will break my little heart.

He is. I mean, what can he do? Play Colbert the character in late night? A lot of old folks aren't going to go for that. The question is, will the younger generation tune in?

He can't play the Colbert character because that character is dying with the Colbert Report but dammit, I hope he's funny as shit. Colbert puts me in stitches and he's consistently one of the best political commentators in the media. I just hope he doesn't completely sell out but I won't blame him if he does, and I sure as fuck will be watching him anyways.

This is ending? Shame. I always liked him better than Stewart.

He's dropping the character and taking over for Letterman.

John Stewart is great, I like him more. But I do find Colbert to be funnier. I'm actually expecting Stewart to step down sometime soon. It seemed like he was grooming John Oliver for his position before went out and made his own awesome show. If Aasif stuck around he would have been my pick to take over after him, it could be any of the correspondents really. Just hoping it's one of the best ones.

It sucks for John Stewart. The guy still has some mileage in him, TDS has been great the past few months with their Ferguson coverage. But the guy made a film and I'm interested in seeing where he goes now. It looks like he's grooming Samantha Bee now.

I'm hoping Colbert shakes things up. The late night formula certainly needs it. I know it's not likely, but dammit, it's what I'm rooting for. I thought the Conan run of The Tonight Show was perfect for me, late night-wise. Gosh I miss those Mario clouds.

I haven't watched this racist show since it wouldn't stop doing bad Asian stereotypes.

perfection

cheesy but just a great goodbye. colbert got his show when i was early in college, still formulating my political views and he had a big influence on me with his unwavering way of showing the absurdity of our world and our politics (both sides). He started when I was college, and he and the daily show with jon steward have been standbys for me going as far as junior year in high school ( so like 2003). His show ends around the same time I'm trying to build a family and work on my own career, and it just feels like a good footnote? I dunno. A tv series finale hasn't hit me this hard, well, ever probably.

Actually it wasn't perfect because bill o'reilly and letterman weren't there

Who said paid to watch? They've had an ongoing relationship for years. It'd have been amazing if he came anyways
