Title: How could she do that to Jim???
Post by: Mupepe on January 21, 2007, 12:04:33 PM: I just started Season 3 of the US version of The Office and I haven't even gotten past the intro song and I want to hit Pam. She got his hopes up so much. I just finished Season 2 like 5 minutes ago and I was so happy when it ended and now I'm so pissed.

When I watched that show the worst parts were the Jim/Pam ones. WAY to contrived and generic. Very repetitive too. How many times do I have to hear these fools stutter, nervously laugh, walk away, and then give the camera some crack head confusion look? :lol

...they usually don't do that when it has something to do with the other.

They usually give crack head confused looks in the camera after something weird dwight has done.

The Office is pure sex. Sorry.

Did you like Friends, too? The first season of Friends was great, but then they fell into the whole dated "will they/won't they" sitcom trap. Leave that shit to Cheers; this is the 21st fucking century.

I've never seen enough consecutive episodes of Friends to get the whole dating story arc. I never knew who dated who.

The thing I like about The Office is that they didn't bounce back and forth. It just built up really slowly towards the end of the Season 2 and just asploded.

Now if it starts bouncing back and forth, then i'll lose interest. i'm only episode 3 of season 3.

Post by: TVC15 on January 22, 2007, 03:59:52 AM: Season 3 deals with things well in regards to Jim/Pam. More recent eps show the budding of a triangle thing, which could be trouble.

The thing is, the show will be retooled to what fans are hyping on, and fans are hyping on Jim and Pam. It worked well in season 2 because it was almost natural; the result of two actors clicking. Making that a prime focus would be a mistake, though.

The more troubling issue with season 3 (and again, it is not show ruining) is that things are more over-the-top. There were hints in season 2, but now the peacock is showing its feathers. It's still doing a good job of walking the balance beam so I can't be too hard on it.

dunno about that. I think it's just as funny but they've added so much in regards to character development and plot progression
