I avoided South Hill, aka seventh level of hell suburban wasteland sprawl shithole.

Drove through Spanaway and Parkland and the went to Engine House No. 9 in North Tacoma.

Gonna take a shot in the dark and say "poo - yallop" (rhymes with 'gallop'). :P

I figured you'd pronounce it like that. Can't really blame you.

Pew-al-up. It's a Native American word. My mom grew up there and my grandparents still live there.

I was gonna put this one on here but they messed up the 'what is seafair' question by not having a 'a yearly aquatic motorsports summit hosted in seattle for southern washington rednecks'.

Seafair is awesome. Blue Angels kick ass. Haters on Capitol Hill are dumb.

I think Seafair is one of those things WA natives love. Transplants can't get past the "military is bad! You should feel bad for liking this!" bullshit.

I'm totally indifferent to the hydros but love Seafair.

If it's pronounced pew-al-up the y and the u should be switched.

Thank you for the insight. You should let the Puyallup Indian tribe know that they've been mispronouncing their name for hundred of years now.

Pew-al-up. It's a Native American word. My mom grew up there and my grandparents still live there.

That's cool, a former coworker of mine moved to Bonney Lake and I went there to visit back in 2006, so I am slightly familiar with the area.

Yeah, we have plenty of Native American towns that confuse the outsiders with their pronunciation and spelling. Ronkonkoma, Hauppauge (when my college friend was telling me about his "Haw-po-jay" video capture card I just cracked up), Nissequogue, Sagaponack, Massapequa, etc.

I'm saying they fucked up the romanized spelling. They should correct the spelling by changing it to Pyuallup.

Keep digging that hole, white man.
