:heh
I'm kind of in awe. Coachella has really jumped the shark this year. I guess they've decided that since tickets sell out nine months in advance every year, lineup unseen, that they can stop pursuing really elite headliners. But fucking LOL at Drake being a headliner here.
Not even going to respond to any Muse trolling.
-
Alesso is kinda lame. I swear, if I hear "Heroes" one more time. Day 1 seems like my thing though - Todd Terje, Porter Robinson, Kiesza, Gorgon City, Squarepusher and Flying Lotus.
-
I guess I could understand why people would want to see ACDC before they die in a year or two but I wouldn't pay for that shit.
-
There's a lot of mid and low card acts worth seeing, but the headliners are trash with the exception of Jack. Sorry AC/DC, you're old and stuff.
-
Haha, Angus Young is probably in better shape than 99% of the posters on this board
-
acdc :heh

Yeah, but his brother had to quit touring :(
-
AC/DC sounds about right, seeing as buying a ticket to Coachella is basically just a step up from buying a ticket to try and win one of those blacklight posters at the county fair anyway
-
Actually, I am really intrigued by the sight of Steely Dan on Friday.
Of course you are, prog rock enthusiast
:jawalrus

Hating on Steely Dan is an instant L to any true gentlemen or basic human being with dignity.
-
It's 2015. Cum is cum.
-
LOL @ Wu not getting billed despite trying (and failing) to make a festival album.
Raekwon and Ghostface getting the invite tho :whew
RZA lost :umad

I don't have to listen to someone who once said "Cher has some hits" lecture me on being a man.
:ufup
-
those headliners are clearly aiming for awkward parent/child bonding getaway sales
the undercard tho :whew
-
Yeah, it's pretty weak lineup. You can say "this band is good though!" but yeah, when you have like 120 bands, there's going to be good ones, the question is how many good ones since it's like a $400 festival. Ideally you want at least 5-8 good bands you're actually interested in seeing per day to make it worth it. This is the first year that there's not even close to that amount for me. Gonna pass. Maybe Outside Lands will be better.
-
I remember in 2008, the lineup was touted as the worst ever, and then they added Prince a month before the festival, and it instantly became one of the best ever. That kind of thing isn't likely to happen again now that they sell out two weekends in less than an hour.
they actually added the pixies and a couple others the week of the festival last year, it was really weird and I don't think very many people even heard about it
There really is no salvaging those headliners though.

malcolm young too

This almost definitely has nothing a promoter passing on the entire Wu over Ghost and Rae and everything to do with everyone in Wu hating RZA/each other though

Getting AC fucking DC to headline a hipster festival? (http://i.imgur.com/kwFY68R.png)
I liked it better when they were getting bands that don't give a shit about touring the U.S. anymore like Blur, Pulp, Daft Punk and Portishead. A headliner like that plus the strong undercard would actually make the $500 or whatever worth it.
-
Still, RZA lost.
-
He might have lost his friends, family and any semblance of credibility or artistic merit, but he ain't losing those royalties!
-
Aren't those dudes in AC/DC having health/personal reasons as of lately?
-

Yeah, I've still yet to see the pusher man. Hope he does a proper US tour, I'm not flying out to the west coast to see him with those fucking headliners. :yuck

Tame Impala are big outside of Australia?!

...you get to go to Coachella for free if you look hipster enough? Man, it's too bad you can't be a hipster if you're fat. :(

Is your company doing the app again this year or was that Bonaroo?

Lol you sure as hell can.

Hey, Jack White is not that bad!
This. Friday and Saturday seem pretty solid to me?
-
if your gonna be listening to classic rock, at least you're better off listening to ac/dc instead of something like led zepplin
-
I can’t read that flyer; is Prince showing up, or is he still pouting?

How can a mainstream music festival started by mainstream rock bands be considered a hipster festival? This thing has always been the pinnacle of corporate sell out rock.
Tame Impala are big outside of Australia?!
They had some radio success here last year. I remember my brother calling them that band that plays the same 12 bar blues progression on every song or something like that.
