BONUS QUESTION: is a hotdog a sandwich?
-
get a job
-
This was actually my big "water cooler" question at work today. It got pretty heated.
-
Of course it's not. I hoped anyone who disagreed was fired and will now have to scrounge in dumpsters for sandwiches and hamburgers.
-
If someone said they were serving sandwiches and you showed up and their were hamburgers would you feel they were all right or would you check to see if they were on a sex-offender database?
-
Holy shit thought squiddy was unlepered
-
The majority of people I spoke with said that it was indeed a sandwich, citing Wikipedia (:yuck) and Burger King which uses titles like "Whopper Sandwich".
I do think that technically it is a sandwich if you're using the definition "something edible placed between bread". At the same time this definition allows for something like a hot dog to fall under the category of sandwich which is obviously absurd.

Burgers are sandwiches. How is this a debate? :gurl

See Contra's example above. Similarly if someone asked you "what is your favorite sandwich?" And you said "a cheeseburger" you'd be considered a douche.
-
Well, practically they are sandwiches. But they're so popular they are above sandwich classification.
-
I think part of the reason people categorize hamburgers/cheeseburgers separately is because it would simply be unfair to all other sandwiches if they were included.

How could you possibly not think it's a sandwich? Like, at all?

Considering the goal of a sandwich is to be able to eat entree items without the use of knife and fork, and bread is never the main course, no. It is not a sandwich.
Also note that I'm using American English standard spelling of entree, not entrée, to avoid confusion about French cuisine naming and order of presentation.

This wouldn't even be a question if we didn't redefine the traditional meaning of marriage.
-
gays probably don't eat sandwiches due to carbs anyway :yuck
-
of course not. cause then it would be called a ham sandwich, which would be demonstrably false.

I'm not sure mass-produced buns count as bread. So, I voted Mupepe.
