We do have a lot of Vietnamese as well, especially in the Jade District. I would say new American gastro pubs though are the big thing Portland right now. Places like American Local  (http://yelp.com/biz/the-american-local-portland) come to mind, but really you can find a good to great representation of almost every kind of food, it's just a food city!

We're not like that. We're an international food hub. There's nothing wholly unique about Houstonian. Plus, Esch said shit food. In order to have shit signature food, you have to have signature food to begin with, so it's even harder to come up with an answer. Our signature food is literally tex mex. Literally. That, bbq, mexican, and cajun. None of those things are unique to Houston.
