Title: Life is Strange (Episodic adventure game)

Basically a telltale style adventure game not made by Telltale.

The story vibe is kinda like gone home meets groundhog day, meets one of those cw teen drama high school shows.

Lots of emphasis on making choices although I'm not sure how much of that stuff is going to pay off.

I played the first episode and quite liked it.

It’s by DONTNOD, the palindromically named developers behind Remember Me.

At $5, I’m super tempted, but I don’t like standard adventure games. Is it pretty standard PnC type stuff?

Yeah I watched the GB QL of this the other day and it seems genuinely interesting. HS is a setting that hasn't been done to death by western devs really (WHERE'S BULLY 2?! ;_;) and being set where my other half is from helps grabbed my interest as well. Once it's finished and bundled cheap I may go for it. So see you this Summer, LiS?

Not at all. This seems to be in the Walking Dead mould. Walk around, have conversations with different outcomes, observe the environment to trigger stuff, aaand turn back time.

I kinda wish they'd just done an adventure game set in the Remember Me universe, since the "adventure" portions of that game were it's strongest suit, but I was still interested enough in the concept to give the first episode a shot at $5.

It's very much Telltale style.

:bow grrrrl power w/lesbian subtext is my favorite new game genre, thank you Gone Home :bow2

Apparently I missed saving a bird, digging through Chloe's stepdad's porn stash, peeking at one girl's preggers test, and getting one of the photos from the early in the chapter.

this is one of the gayest looking games I've ever seen

industry just keeps digging that hole

to be fair though you have to take into account that you're an idiot so there is that.

Basically had put this on hold not because of lack of interest but simply lack of time. I got all the episodes that are out now though and will play them one a day.

Just finished episode 2. I thought it was again very good. They stick to their tone and execute on it very well imo. This is probably the best one of these I've played since the first walking dead from telltale.

This would make a credible TV show if expanded out.

I'm trying very hard to be a teenage white lesbian btw!

This is the correct choice, esp since you're supposed to be a whiny self absorbed teenager. I could've just said teenager and it'd have meant the same thing, I know. :teehee

I've heard good things about this but before I jump in, I'm wondering if there's gonna be a physical release of all the chapters at once? Do these episodic games ever get that?

I felt awful for Chloe since her life went to shit after her biological dad died, and seeing she was paralyzed in the alternate timeline.  Having her die miserable and alone felt wrong.  Also there's no indication that everyone in Arcadia Bay died.  :wag
