Benny Blanco, from the Bronx?  I remember him.

For serious, I love this dang movie.  How great is Sean Penn in this?  How great is De Palma's (unusually subtle, at least for him) direction?  Hell, even Penelope Ann Miller gives a good performance and she's usually so terrible that you've already forgotten that she was actually a movie star back then.

Heat didn't get any noms, not even for the sound catagories, which is doubly absurd because even discounting its artistic merits, Heat has the best fucking sounding gunfight in film history.

oh, and back on topic, De Palma has never gotten a nomination.  His only nominated films in any category were Carrie (acting), and The Untouchables (Sean Connery wins, and costumes and shit).  You think at least Sean Penn woulda scored a nod for Carlito's Way.  Hell, its my favorite performance of his already pretty great career.
