I almost want to pay taxes if this continues.
MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEYYYYYYY
-
I actually think that ad campaign is catchy as hell.
-
Hubba hubba hubba
Money money money
-
I want to throat punch that dude
-
every fucking commercial break on FXX now is this shit. I came about yay close to killing the roku last night while the missus had Simpsons on all night long.
-
It feels like that on every cable channel at least. I wonder how much the ad buy cost.
-
The bitter tears of people who owe money due to lying about their income to receive larger Oabamcare subsidies
:beli
I know a few people in that position. I can understand owing some back due to making more money than you thought you would last year, but people who thought they could get away with $700+ in understated income should take that L. It's like dude, you lied and then sent the evidence to Turbo Tax, what do you expect.
:snoop

whats this now?

They don't expect anything. They live their lives a (maxed) credit card statement at a time because they make bad life decisions and beg, borrow, and steal any way they can to keep the dance going for one more song.
(I've worked in the tax accounting equivalent of a public defender's office before.)

It's on, constantly. Every ad break on some channels. Was hearing it from down the hall like six times an hour the other night because somebody was watching NCIS reruns on USA.
-
HR block will nickel and dime you for that refund too. They have some bizarre upsells that I can't believe people buy. They have something called 'Refund Assurance' or some BS that you can pay a little extra to get the same refund amount your initial payment for them to do your taxes told you you were going to get. :mindblown
All those places are big scams. Go to an accountant.
-
Upsell assurance, be sure to get the highest upsell for a small admin fee.
-
I had read that the average after everything people got back from last years GET YOUR BILLIONS BACK was like $18 or something.
-
Unless you're self-employed, a member of the bourgeoisie, or somehow graduated from kindergarten without being able to follow directions, using a PTP beyond an e-filing fee is pure idiocy. Even the e-filing thing, depending on how much of a wage slave you are.
Lawyers get a deserved bad rep, somehow we don't. :heh

Assume roughly 150 million Americans pay federal income taxes. Divide $1 billion by 150 million. That's about $6.67 per person.
-
Yeah, I'm tired of seeing it too

Thanks! I watched this once, happy in the knowledge that I’ll only ever have to watch it once. :usacry
HR Block is horribad. We should all pool our taxes, and make Karakand do them for us, and then manage our Bore Fund™.
-
I actually tried to join VITA (the tax assistance non-profit, not the latest entry in Sony's long list of irrelevant personal electronics) this year but they didn't want my services. :fbm
I caremad hate how predatory the industry is on low income taxpayers. They banned those :trash refund advance loans and the industry just found a work around.
-
You have a very good heart. Despite your best efforts. :-*
-
Honestly though, if you are too stupid to figure out a W-2 EZ, you deserve to get taken.

In Commiefornia we have a program called CalFile Deluxe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLI-nLPiaJA) where the Franchise Tax Board will fill out a state income tax return for you using the information you supplied during registration (biographical information, essentially) and all the income and withholding information that was reported to the agency by reporting... agents. I doubt you'll get the most tax advantageous return using this, but the people we're talking about don't exactly tax plan in the first place.
It gets absolutely no advertising though for some strange reason. (I'd post a :hans1 conspiracy involving Intuit, but sadly that's more fact than fiction (http://articles.latimes.com/2010/jul/21/opinion/la-oe-ventry-intuit-20100721).) If I didn't have to use ftb.ca.gov so much even I probably wouldn't know about it.
