Title: The harams of porkography?!
Post by: Skidmark on March 06, 2015, 02:55:14 PM
I am not really sure if and how pornography can cause harm to the viewer.
I mean there are a lot of documentaries and articles out there and I have seen a bunch of them but the problem with them is that they have a clear biased agenda.
Almost the same way warnings about ''the harms of cannabis'' used to be publicized, so watching them doesn't really help me figure out what to think.

The one thing that I can think of is that I can become under-stimulated or desensitized during normal sex because I get used to the visual stimuli. But then again girls tend to need vibrators to orgasm to overcome the mental barrier, maybe that's just the same way but for guys and visuals.

Normal sex with a partner sometimes feels like trying to read a book in the dark, you have to really put a lot of effort and concentration to get a glimpse of arousal or imagination or something.
For example, when I see a naked woman in bed my brain doesn't go ''Fuck yeah dude! It's a naked woman!! A NAAAAKEEDD WOOOMMAANN!!!!LET'S DO THIS!!'' It's more like ''yeah.. I mean.. I can see how her ass can resemble a hot ass from certain angles.... at least it's better looking than the last one... just try to look at the good features at least... either way just don't think too much about it and just use your imagination..focus on the fucking now!'' But then again, maybe that's just normal desensitization to nudity? or what happens when you stare at the same saggy tits for years.

Either way, I am at least certain that I came to the right place to ask. What do you guys think about it?

Yes, instant gratification at your finger tips can ruin your sexual health. Is there really any question about it?

It can definitely fuck up your arousal, trust me on this. The funny thing is that my dick feels much better when I'm not jerking off daily. Even the slightest arousal down there can feel
:lawd

As an example, recently I didn't wank for about 4 days, sat down to watch some TV, placed a bowl of nachos on my crotch and that sensation alone was :whew

that's the type of shit I don't feel when I'm wanking daily. So yea brehs, keep your porn down to a minimum. Don't end up like me. I'm doing much better now but it's still a struggle.

i have seen talk along these lines, for example by Naomi Wolf here (http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/trends/n_9437/), and it sounded plausible before i actually had sex, but after having done so, i don't really understand how people could possibly think this way. for me at least the experience and pleasure of being with a woman is so utterly unlike the experience of looking at some pictures or videos on a screen, that the idea of having the one desensitize you to the other is just bizarre. it doesn't have a whole lot to do with objective "visual stimuli", it's more like another mode my brain goes into when I'm close to someone. like, i don't get desensitized to drugs by watching requiem for a dream or fear and loathing in las vegas.

You are very right about this. I was going to mention this but i didn't want to go off on tangents. Sex is an intimate contact experience. What I wonder though is if general decrease in ability to be aroused has anything to do with visual priming or dependency.

Either that or it just makes you jerk it too often so that you numb yourself, literally and figuratively.

While I agree to an extent I don't think it's that simple. Having grown up mormon I spent my whole life hearing about how porn would destroy your life and your family and friend's lives in the process. I mean I literally have a friend who wrote a whole book about how bad porn is for you, a whole book.  So obviously I think it's negative effects have been grossly oversold.  Yeah I think if you're spending an inordinate amount of time looking at it and wanking till the point of desensitivity, then yeah it's bad. Also if you're watching it so much that only one kind of porn turns you on, that's bad too. There's a lot made about unrealistic expectations. That depends on how you watch it. Most people watch for the performers and that can be bad because you're going to expect everyone to look like that. But I watch it for the acts. As to unrealistic expectations in acts I do think that can be both ways too. Sure if you're only turned on by specific kinds of acts then yeah that's bad. But I hear a lot from people that are like "My husband started watching porn and now he wants teh oral sex!" Well yeah, don't be so damned boring in bed.  I've also seen porn help a lot of people who were really sexually repressed.

In the end porn is just a thing like alcohol or food. If you have an unhealthy attitude to it then it's unhealthy. But it isn't inherently bad.

I mean I'm not sitting here saying we should abolish porn, but if you're wanking it everyday and you have a partner, for example, you got a problem and are taking sexual energy away from your relationship.

I know it's cliche to talk about bacon on the internet but why not AiA. What's your favorite way to eat bacon? Perhaps your preferred brand?

Thick cut from the butcher.

Oven baked on cookie sheet

Give me all the bacons.

At this point if I don't jerk violently and viciously it would take over an hour to get business done. Treat my dick with no respect.

I'd certainly be more nervous with the opposite sex if I had hundreds of porn videos on my computer. You just know that if somebody stumbled in your porn folder, the one with hundreds of videos, they couldn't help but see what the most depraved shit is.

Any effort I put into watching porn ends at bookmarking a page. Rewatching porn more than a couple of times doesn't make sense to me.

Are there still a lot of people that watch full porn movies instead of clips? Like watching the dumbass setups before fucking happens? Even worse than porn with Z tier acting are the interview styled clips where a chick just talks to the camera while being nude.

Be picky about what's going into your giant porn collection and then wonder why you can't get laid, brehs.
There's no wondering going on here.

I haven't downloaded porn since the days of AOL and Kazaa. Sometimes there are moments where I wish I saved stuff - like when Comcast fucks up and my internet is down for hours. But overall I prefer streams when I watch porn. I wouldn't want people to stumble across a porn collection on my computer. Whereas I can easily delete my internet history and not worry.

What's the point of saving a bunch of shit you've seen before? If I want to rewatch something I just search for it on a site.

Well the point is that most of the stuff is not actually on your xhamsters, xnxx, xvides, spankwire, puretna, ect, ect.
