I love 24 in HD, but my HD Cable signal SUCKS. The last 2 minutes have just been stuttering, I have no idea what Jack and Bill talked about after that filler helicopter thing

Really? It's going to be tough to outdo season one imo. Although I will admit there were a couple instances I didn't like in season one - mainly the whole recapture of his family. At that point I was like "ugh, AGAIN". But the show redeemed itelf imo when the storyline of "what's Jack going to do when he finds out they knew his family had been kidnapped and didn't tell him?" came into my mind lol. Of course he never found that out, but the possibility of him snapping on Mason/Tony was intriguing.

The final minute of the first season came out of nowhere. I totally didn't expect that to happen. When I watched the alternate ending I'm GLAD they didn't change it lol

Well, I personally liked S2 best. You may not. But it has a good balance of the development of characters you got in S1, and balls to the wall action that the later seasons have adopted.

That's definitely good to know. The thing I loved about season one is that although there is action, it's nicely balanced with the more substancial emotional undercurrents of the character driven storylines. Sure you have Jack fighting terrorists, but you also have Palmer's marriage "problem" (to say the least) or Nina's confrontations with Jack's wife.

It reminded me of the first Mission Impossible in terms of putting story before action. Apparently the later seasons lose that focus a bit
