I'd like to know, too. I have $45 in Google Play credit which expires in January of next year, and I'm struggling to find stuff to spend it on.

grim fandango rerelease just came out. there's also banner saga, and you might like monument valley. the room 1 & 2 are both real good puzzle games. there's lots of rereleases of old final fantasy and Dragon quest games, and kotor too. haven't played any of the five nights at freddies games but they're supposed to be good and they're cheap too.

i guess it's a good thing i'm kinda addicted to hearthstone. i just threw $15 google play credit toward that because i couldn't figure out what else to spend it on.

I was kind of wondering this myself- got a 2nd gen moto x last week. I've already had a 2013 Nexus 7 tablet, though. For me, I just don't care about gaming enough to fuck with mobile. I play a lot of Diablo 3 and whenever an open world game like Witcher or Fallout comes out, I'll play that. Just not interested in mobile gaming.

for me mobile gaming is best for when I have a bunch of little breaks w time to kill during the day. waiting in line, getting auto repair done, in the bathroom, whatever. that. (+ controls) are why I think rpgs and puzzle games work best. jump in, get yr fix, jump out. works great.

I've been grinding on Dragon Quest 3 for the past couple of weeks between during stretches of idle time like waiting at an airport or flying.  It's pretty fun just to blow 30 minutes grindan on some enemies.  I haven't got past the first tower yet and I'm already level 11.

Record Keeper and Puzzle and Dragon requires you to be online most/all of the time, which is annoying when you're in airplane mode.  If that is not an issue for you, those two games are solid enough.

Geometry Dash is the best runner game I've played.
Auro is a fun roguelike/board game
Super Hexagon feels more natural on the phone than PC
Crossy Road is a fun voxel Frogger clone

Those are some of the best 'hidden gems' that aren't Angry Birds/P&D etc

Terra Battle is one of the less blatant F2P puzzle games and has some decent art.

Been playing Peggle Blast. It's definitely F2P trash; the levels are all cheaply difficult and it's constantly encouraging you to spend cash on power-ups and lives. Thing is... it's kinda still Peggle so they own me.
