If you were to look outside my window right now, you might scoff at the idea that anything containing the word "Summer" could be just a month away. And yet, according to the Steam page on Russian social network VK, the Steam Summer Sale will begin on June 11.

Let's be honest, most of us own all the 'big' games that usually go on sale.  It's going to be a disappointment as usual.

recent sales have been garbaggio but hopefully i can get my hands on Cities:Skylines to help plug the gaping hole in my heart :leon

You could've got it for $20 from GreenManGaming at launch.  :wag

mmm, is there anything I really want that'd be part of this? Gotta pretty nice backlog pile already.

This is pretty true. People need to stop going "OMG SALES SUCK" because they own a lot of the big titles that get decent sales at the time. Not our fault you haven't played them yet.

If you're new the the PC game then the sales are :lawd

If you've been around for a good minute, then maybe you pick up like a fourth string title on your wishlist bench.
The kind of game that prob wouldn't make it in normally but you feel the need to pad your roster anyway, but either way you doubt it'll get any playtime.

Didn't own a pc that could run it then

First rule of PC club: You always buy the games you think you want.
Second rule of PC club: You always buy the games you think you want despite the requirements.
Third rule: Because you can always go to it a year later with upgrades and THEN play it. :uguu

Regarding the prices earlier like GTA V, Steam Spy was tweeting out a whole bunch of games that had their prices suddenly increased right as the summer sale started and they went on sale.

Quote
Steam Spy ‏@Steam_Spy  Jun 11
Yeah, it looks like Gaijin raised prices for two of their WarThunder packs before Summer Sale

Steam Spy ‏@Steam_Spy  Jun 11
Now, that's some creative arithmetic here, Rockstar.

Grand Theft Auto was 59.99 and now with 25% discount it's 56.23? Seriously? :)

Tabletop Simulator was $14,99 before Summer Sale, then suddenly it is $19,99 with 33% discount http://steamspy.com/app/286160

Steam Spy ‏@Steam_Spy  Jun 11
Wolfenstein: The New Order was $44,99, now it's $59,99 with 50% discount http://steamspy.com/app/201810

Steam Spy ‏@Steam_Spy  20h20 hours ago
Alone in the Dark: Illumination was $29.99, now $34.99 with 14% discount (same $29.99) http://steamspy.com/app/275060

Steam Spy ‏@Steam_Spy  20h20 hours ago
DarkStar One was $7.99, now it's $9.99 with 85% discount http://steamspy.com/app/12330

He had SpeedRunners listed but the devs responded to him that they had announced a price bump a while ago due to the content they added to the game and it was just a coincidence.

Quote
Subterrain was $11.99, now it's $14.99 with 34% discount

The Masterplan was $14.99, now it's $19.99 with 25% discount

The Age of Decadence was $24.99, now it's $29.99 with 25% discount
Those along with the above were all the ones he tweeted out. I've seen others before where I've gone "I think that was cheaper two weeks ago in the Monday sales at the same 75% off..."

Enhanced Steam lets you see the lowest price and you can click on that to pop up a graph to see the price changes:

Worst part about the monster game was that there was no boom period right at the start, cards only went up to like 25 cents. They used to shoot up to like a dollar right at the start of these types of things and if you could pump em out before the bust it'd make up for the rest of the period where they got you basically nothing.

Publishers, we need to have a discussion about your discounts on DLC especially Season Passes.

The longer you refuse to discount it in line with the games and packs, the longer I'll wait for the GOTY or whatever version to be like $5.

Because those don't show up in my games list to be ignored OR drop me trading cards.

So, your move.

It doesn't really matter, to be honest. I only played XIII for a few hours before I gave up on it, but as long as you know who the characters are and maybe a little bit about what happens at the end of XIII you should be fine.

there's also a digest of 13 you can watch in 13-2. really you only need to know the setup and the ending of 13. not a whole lot else happens in it, and the lore shit is mostly discarded in 13-2.

Divinity OS for 26.74, should I pull the trigger?
and now PoE for 30 bucks :shaq2

the only games I wanted and these fucks won't bump em down more than 33%*

any chance these go for less during the encore sale or is this the best they're gonna offer?

*I know pillars just came out and I should temper any sale expectations

I would expect Divinity to hit 50% during the holiday sale. Not sure when PoE gets any cheaper, tbh.

It doesn't matter. FF13 is a LONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG tutorial (about 20? 40? hours) until it opens up right at the end and unlocks everything to you and by then you'll be tired of pressing forward--provided you hated that element in FF10 like me.

FF13-2 is a bit more "explore the world" while still being semi-linear. The saving grace though? You're able to *choose* where you want to go after a bit to where it kinda allows you to have some freedom in going at your own pace.

*Then why are you complaining? You wanna wait at least nearly a year before saying the sales are shit for a "new" title, bb.

Also Ghost Recon classic for less than $5. :rejoice Ubisoft finally hearing my prayers of throwing money at them. Now to get the Rainbow Six titles. :-*

Somewhat interested in Risen 3

Think I've topped out at level 3031 in the clicker game. NFI how I got there either, left at level 133 and came back and was somehow in the 2700s

I accidentally left the game running in another tab earlier and there were like five or six guys who were intensely playing the game when I went back to it, I put it on my other monitor for like an hour to keep an eye on it and they were using all the abilities and stuff almost constantly. While my auto-cannon which was like level 15 sat there plinking away a thousand damage against these trillion hp monsters. :lol

So there's some people who are hardcore playing it. I've really only been going in and spending like two or three minutes crippling spawners and upgrading to try and see what some of the higher level stuff is*. Only gotten to railgun as the click weapon.

*Plus get my cards.

There are self-playing scripts out there, so those people might be doing something else while their bots do the work.

What genuinely surprised me is that there are people streaming this shit. There's one guy claiming to be the #1 team, they where in the tens of thousands of levels. Their game looked different, too. Gold background.

4X special fellow brethren, do you guys like Age of Wonders III?
I've only spent an hour and a half in it, but it's pretty good

it's not like civ where you can carve out a few of your neighbors in the early-mid game and then cheese your way through diplomacy and cruise to a culture/science victory; the meat of the game is the combat, if you can't fuck with the hexagonal-turn based battles that's a substantial part of the game you're missing out on. the appeal of the game is the immediate expansion/conquest/resource gathering + leveling up characters and shit; it's an rpg in the skin of a 4X

Awww, figures. I'm all about the city building. That's one of the things that holds me back from a lot of scifi/fantasy 4X. Like, they don't really have a lot of vision as far as how a (fictional) civilization would develop so they double down on tile combat. Which I like ok, but it's not my favorite.
yeah there's no equivalent to the worker, settling is fairly limited and, iirc, there aren't any great building projects you can tell your cities to undertake. that being said, there's a shitload of depth to how your civ/unit interacts with the environment, and depending on class/race, there'll be ways to mold it accordingly. because of the emphasis on rpging, it allows for a lot more flexibility and mix n match with your civ, which is pretty fun to mess around with. it's definitely worth a look, and it's like what, 8 bucks right now? totally worth it. since you brought it up, I kinda wanna dive back in right now; I was overwhelmed the first time, I might pick up a dlc

e: and it should be mentioned, your units are stacked and the combat takes place on a map that represents the tile you and the enemy are both occupying in the main overworld. think Total War but instead of a fully realized rts, it's a Fire Emblemy tile and turn based system
