Sir Christopher Lee has died at the age of 93 after being hospitalised for respiratory problems and heart failure.
The veteran actor, best known for a variety of films from Dracula to The Wicker Man through to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, passed away on Sunday morning at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, according to sources.
The decision to release the news days after was based on his wife’s desire to inform family members first. The couple had been married for over 50 years.
Knew it was coming sooner rather than later, but still sad to see such a great actor go. :(

my favorite part of Revenge of the Sith? That they CGI-ied Peter Cushing back so Christopher Lee could have his old co-star back in one last film at least. Its sad that he's gone, but holy crap, what a life to have lived. And I'm very, very glad that he got a late career appreciation/resuscitation as an awesome old guy. Also, despite his obvious declining health its incredible how he kept working as much as he could (his entire, brief part in Burke and Hare is performed while bed prone), whatta guy.
Also, if we're talking just pure, pound for pound filmmaking quality, there's a strong case to be made of the Lee Dracula series being the best horror film series ever.

Now this is something I thought would never happen. RIP :(

"I don't want to sound gloomy, but, at some point of your lives, every one of you will notice that you have in your life one person, one friend whom you love and care for very much. That person is so close to you that you are able to share some things only with him. For example, you can call that friend, and from the very first maniacal laugh or some other joke you will know who is at the other end of that line. We used to do that with him so often. And then when that person is gone, there will be nothing like that in your life ever again."
~Christopher Lee
Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee are both having a laugh together somewhere, recounting some great memories.
