At this point it's pointless to attempt to step around continuity problems. Half(maybe most) of your audience hasn't played the original or even really care. So why even try and fit around a story when it's not necessary?

The amount of variety they've got here appeals to a wide audience of people. They've really brought it and I think they have something for everyone.

At the time, Square was still weak from TSW, so the merger was done out of survival and combining their IP portfolio. Over the years, Square has lost a lot of their talent. Buying Eidos has really picked up the slack and filled in holes that were missing. The Japanese side seems to be getting stronger now too.

Post by: Positive Touch on June 16, 2015, 04:44:14 PM: their management was so horrible for so long that it's really amazing that they didn't end up way worse. glad that whatever they did, they've got people that can finish a project now in charge of games. hopefully in a few years they'll be at a point where they can really get back to some of their old ips. it was always sad that they never got a "dream team 2.0" together for another Chrono game.

Yoshi-P in XIV, Tabata in XV and now Tai Yasue on KH3 are all people that get shit done, produce results and ship the games they work on at reasonable dates without blowing up the budget excessively.

Nomura's perfectionism is nice sometimes, but not when we end up waiting on shit for more than a decade.

I saw the closed demo of the new Tomb Raider and it's more of the same but with greater emphasis on stealth. Looked good.

Everything else they had at the show was boring or already available.
