We found that lower general intelligence in childhood predicts greater racism in adulthood, and this effect was largely mediated via conservative ideology, lead researchers Gordon Hodson and Michael A. Busseri of Brock University, Canada, wrote in the abstract of the paper.
Odd that Canadian researchers used American and UK datasets to base their results on. I'm assuming they had access to Canadian/Western European datasets and it didn't give them what they were looking for.
What type of dithering fuckwit believes in their own mental superiority based on these results? Oh yeah, liberals.
Making money makes you smart brehs.
Having options doesn't make you smart. It means you have more options.
Aren't you the one here telling us conservatives are smart? :hitler
I like how AIA is so offended when it clearly says socially conservative and not economically conservative, which is the conservatism he says he embraces, and yet somehow is offended on the behalf of social conservatives. Odd, that.
A_I_A what's your IQ?
Seriously though, it's not terribly surprising. People with lower IQs are more given to fear that which is foreign to them because it's just intellectually easier.
Its not an agenda; its an attitude, which happens to be supported by facts.
YOU CAN'T CONTROL MY GAYNESS!!Seriously though, it's not terribly surprising. People with lower IQs are more given to fear that which is foreign to them because it's just intellectually easier.
I'd counter that the intellectually superior are more prone to be fearful of things they can't control. So what's the point?

Nope. I'm just goddamn tired of the liberal "we're smarter than everybody" agenda which generally doesn't do shit but promote circular arguments. :yeshrug
And you know what that say about arguing with an idiot, they'll take you down to their level and beat you with experience.
And behold, they divide the masses and obscure their true enemy :hans1

Facts based on stats created by people who follow the agenda. Wow, consider me blown away.
Oh look aia is mad again
What if everyone is racist/xenophobic and smarter people are just better at hiding it?Biases and prejudice take work to overcome, especially when statements mired in either come from people you tend to agree with. So, not all all unlikely.
:ohhh
Oh look aia is mad again

You don't matter enough to make me mad :hitler
I don't think I know anyone who's socially conservative but wasn't raised that way. Which MIGHT suggeat that they have fear of challenging the way they were raised or lack the confidence to think about that stuff. But that is ultimately a subjective thing and probably based a lot on how much empathy they have for other people.
A lot of them are very academically and financially successful so I would be skeptical that low IQ is the reason they have less progressive views. What does an IQ test really measure that is relevant to stuff like gay marriage?

Yeah u mad
Ever have a friend casually reveal their innate racism that they did an otherwise decent job of hiding?
My parents were poor and black.
My parents were poor and black.
But now they are rich and white. Welcome to the century of trans-racialism.

I'm a conservative. My parents were poor and black. Want to make another assumption?
Why we gotta get so personal?
Why we gotta get so personal?
"And all you're ever gonna be is mean"
Taylor Swift is the GOAT.
Hmm, could also be that people with higher IQ are more likely to go to colleges and/or work in careers where they associate with a much more diverse populace which opens them up to new ideas.I actually like this theory. In my work I have to deal with tons of people with tons of different races and backgrounds. I know many of the more socially conservative people I know tend to be in fairly homogenous regions and have little interactions with anyone that's unlike that.
itt hysterical conservative, self-loathing liberals
science prevails again :phil
