Billy from Xenogears was pretty clutch with the gun attacks. The first time I started playing the game, I left him out of my party at the point where you have to climb that giant tower and meet a boss at the top who is only weak to guns. I couldn't beat that boss and actually had to restart the game because there was no way to get back down from the tower at that point.

He is also the only character with haste magic (Goddess Call) for much of the game (Shitan eventually gets it at level 60).
