I'm surprised this thread doesn't exist yet.  This is a place to vent and talk shit.  No real struggles or inconveniences need apply.

I'll start - we had some flooding in my area.  This is an excuse for people to slow to a crawl to gawk at flooded rivers.  It's like these cocksuckers have never seen elevated water before except oh wait, it floods here every year. As a result, my commute has almost tripled in time since my drive involves crossing two bodies of water regardless of alternative routes.

Also I hate all anime

Rainy weather.

Look, I don't mind rain. But every week for WEEKS AT A TIME drives me insane. We've been dealing with this shit for MONTHS. I swear I will never bitch about humidity ever again if I can get a solid month of sunshine.

How do people in places like Seattle, Boston, or the UK DEAL with this? I want my sun! I want my vitamin D!

The rain wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't coming in the form of a several-months-long monsoon that's washed out roads, flooded everything multiple times, and sent the local lake over its spillway twice. Don't need anymore rain right now, thanks.

The worst is feeling nostalgic for things I never even experienced :mindblown

Ultimately, it's a fleeting but persistent feeling devoid of any real substance. Some thing (usually a product) evokes memories of past highs that will NEVER be replicated. My brain lost all that youthful vigor years ago.

It's why video games disappoint me a lot and will continue to disappoint with the occasional exception.

Best bet I find is to seek out new experiences like spiritual BJs and trying various ethnic cuisines.

Here's one for my that is probably unpopular.

The majority of people who are heavily into weed and want to talk to me about weed annoy the fuck out of me. Like I voted for drug legalization in my state because its the right thing to do but in general I can't stand being around people who smoke tons of weed. Which is of course not to say that applies to every weed user.

But on average its far more common than not. 

On a purely anecdotal level, this may have to do with location. I never really felt this way in Cali. Because most of the weed users there were into cool stuff. But in the south, its like burnout city. So maybe its not the weed, but the location...

It's also a part of culture. In California, weed is easily accessible via medical mj, so weed isn't "cool" there. It's just a thing. But in the south, especially in Florida, depending on where you are, all people have going for themselves is weed and there's an entire culture that surrounds it, because hey, it's completely illegal so it's "cool there, and not just a general part of every day life. This also combines with the fact that Florida sucks, but that ties into the "there's nothing to do but smoke weed" point.

There shouldn't be but there is.  I knew of more than a few people whose lives revolved around weed.  There were some who couldn't have a normal conversation without talking about weed or how <insert discussion topic here> is better while stoned.

I get kind of nostalgic for weed because the period in which my friends and I were into it mostly coincides with late high school/early college.

Really was a time of genuine enthusiasm for life filled with new experiences :'(

Had a lot of fun growing plants and just relaxing by the water getting baked with friends and being cac carefree™.

Was probably obnoxiously inconvenient for acquaintances not into all that, but most people our age were smokin' & drinkin'. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUv_OIFmLwg)

We were a far cry from attack of the hacky sack wielding rastafarians, or the musician cliques positioning around a guitar singing "smoke weed everyday," or the "but have you tried it high?" types.

All of it's in the past though.

Lol it's been super dry here since like April. I guess the earth's bladder here is empty after all that snow it dumped earlier this year.

The current state of mainstream rap and urban radio. The last few years have almost mirrored the 90s with respect to explosive events that are largely viewed/defined along racial lines. Cops shooting unarmed black people, the Voting Rights Act getting gutted, blatant disrespect aimed at blacks and Hispanics through the media, fucking George Zimmerman, Confederate flags, black churches being burned down...yet unlike the 90s there has been an almost complete absence of militant or political rap outside of the underground. Everything is "turn up" party shit. Even the non radio tracks have no social worth. Granted Kendrick Lamar had a big album this year about all this shit, and Vince Staples released a similar album this week...but radio is tipped nearly 100% to records that sound the same. This trap shit is brain dead, I swear to god...and that's almost exclusively what is getting play on urban radio. I've been listening to pop stations lately and the diversity is interesting. It's not all EDM for instance.

Music often reflects the times but right now? Nope, not at all. I understand most music will always be party or love based, I'm not upset about that; it's not like Ice Cube was getting play in the early 90s (but he still had a presence). But with all this shit popping off the fact that almost no one has shit to say on the mainstream level is stunning.

They did the same when their console of choice did badly. There was a long year of apocalyptic shitposting after the historic failure of the Wii U where we were told time and again how consoles were doomed because some sad spiteful people would prefer that everyone fail rather than accept that Nintendo had fucked up and potentially lost their position in the industry. You could feel the bitterness as they tried to build this narrative and then the despair in their minds when the PS4 came out and it all came crashing down on them.

Yea. You can go back and look at Billboard charts to see party tracks dominated, for sure. I just feel like now is the perfect time for a resurgence of a certain type of rap, and it's not really happening. Yea we've got Kendrick, Killer Mike/RTJ, Vince, etc but I'm just surprised things aren't happened on a broader level.

If you listen to Cube's first couple albums they're full of him complaining about not getting radio play. Yet Cube still had a place, if you will. He was still That Dude for awhile.

I hate new management

We got a new VP and naturally he wants to make a mark with his group.  Like all American executives, their first instinct is to cut the budget.  Except we really don't have any more discretionary spending so any further cuts means breaking the law by not complying with regulations.  This frustrates him so he's been spending the better part of two months trying to come up with creative ways to interpret regulations in order to get out of doing something.  We tell him why it can't be done, he pushes it further, Legal steps in and says "lol no" to his proposals and it dies.  On a staff call today, he had a mini-meltdown about how he's been unable to cut costs.  So one of his direct reports asked what the company's target goal was.  He said that there wasn't a company target.  Silence set in as we realized that he made us chase our tails for weeks in order to show off to the President.

I've only been in KKKapitalist Amerikkka for six years and I've seen three department turnovers and it's the same old shit: new leader steps in, says things are going to change, can't change it, and then he/she gets scuttled off after 2-3 years.  I can see the cycle a mile away like a shitty Sonic title but I just hate that I have to spend an appreciable amount of time on something that won't amount to anything.

the fan I use in my bedroom broke, but the replacement fan I set up to keep from sweating to death has a loose bit in it somewhere because every few minutes it makes a strange, louder, noise and it's a very bad situation. I hate/dislike it very much.

Back in high school, there were a couple of guys on my football team who'd go mudding.  They took their shitty trucks and get it muddy.  Then if there was a chance it would rain, they'd put a tarp over their truck so as not to wash away the mud splatters.

Speaking of redneck shit, until a couple weeks ago or so, the only time I'd ever see a confederate flag in the wild is if someone from Missouri had it on their trucks and was driving through the state.  Recently, I've seen the occasional confederate flag here and there :-\

From cycling to Formula 1, if there's a crash that's getting attention instead of, you know, the race. I get it, the threat of death excites you in your insipid existence but I actually want to watch the race.

I recently found out about Formula E. (Open wheel electric engine racing.) Unlike Formula 1 I can watch it on YouTube. Guess what one of the frequently suggested videos is on this subject? The most intense crashes of the season. :goty

More sports need to let you pay to opt out of the international feed and offer a more tailored viewing experience. :money
