If you can deal with that, the books do a pretty decent job of setting up situations where nobody is a knight in shining armor. Except one guy.

Not the best, not the worst stuff I've ever read.

I've read the poorly translated collection and the official releases.
It's alright. The Last Wish (the first book) is objectively the best imo, small novella style stories about his adventures.
Geralt really isn't the main character of the novels after a while tho, everything eventually relates to Ciri and how things spin out in relation to her.
