As long as they fix the slow down, everything will be gravy.
I stopped playing the original because this giant spider boss was impossible because it ran at like 2 fps.

I was super whatever about this originally, but then the trailer showed that it has revamped Muramasa style combat and platforming rather than the stiff and slower than molasses atrocity that the original had. Its more of a remake than it is a remaster.

Oswaldu-kun :uguu

Still pissed that I paid full price for the original at release. One of my worst purchases ever. If the combat really has been improved and item creation toned down, I'll get this cheap as shit in like 3 years. :maf

oh you mean that muramasa style combat that overstays its welcome by 10-15 hours?

The combat in Muramasa is aces. :ufup Beating Muramasa Rebirth in one-hit kill mode is one of my most intense experiences this/last gen.
Blame the wrapping around the combat. Muramasa has two characters that play exactly the same with the same types of swords and the only variation being the super arts used by then. The DLC for the Vita version already showed how much fun it can be when you have a multitude of characters that all play differently from each other and bring their own flair into combat. The brief gameplay snippet in the trailer is already way faster/more dynamic than how the combat was like in the original. Massive step up.

The boss fight against Odin is what put an end to my attempt a while back, but the combat in general had put a damper on things from the start. I didn't like the food growing mechanic either.

I made it to the end of the first chapter and wasn't really enjoying myself very much... apart from looking at the gorgeous backgrounds. The controls felt much too sluggish and I didn't like the overdesigned crafting systems. When I learned I had 5 or 6 more near-identical chapters to go, I dropped it and never returned. Hopefully the new one trims a LOT of fat.
Ironically Game Sack talked about this game on their last episode (along with Muramasa and Dragon's Crown).

Would have preferred Dragon's Crown HD tbh or maybe even GrimGrimoire.

Might finally play this since they're fixing a lot of the repetition issues. Never got too far in the original, but I appreciate the art.
I think charging full price for this is hilariously dumb though. Will grab it at $20 or less.
