Bumping all the threads because people need to see this!

It already got funded.

Thank Kerensky it's Succession Wars era.
Shitty inner sphere mechs. :preach

It already got funded.
Yeah but meat of the game is 1 million single player campaign (no problem) and 1.85 million is the high quality campaign, so hopefully it hits 1.85.

I know these things always slow down but I think it'll hit 2 mill.

I bought the original board Battletech in store 25 years ago. Never played it :lol .
It's a cool and catchy universe though, and the proposition seems utterly pro and serious. Can't wait for more turn based goodness.

There was talk about how a lot of people are unfamiliar with the name Battletech but are familiar with the name Mechwarrior, and so maybe the Kickstarter should've used that branding. I definitely fall into that category but I know it's the same universe, but yeah...food for thought.

I'm not sure they could use the word MechWarrior, as it seems there's a ridiculous legal clusterfuck involved around this franchise. Besides, a turn based isometric game is definitely closer to the original board games than either the RPG and mech piloting games. If I understood correctly, PGI (who does Mechwarrior Online) will collaborate with them to let them use their assets (Mech models).
Campaign is currently at 1,4m $ with a lot of days to go, so at this point the full promised single player campaign should be pretty much in the bag. Some says that they would prefer not the PvP to be a distraction but given that the original board game is PvP, it would be a bit sad not to have that.
I like the art they have so far.

Honestly, as long as they nail core combat mechanics I don't see why they couldn't give ppl a barebones pvp/skirmish mode later on even in a patch.

Don't want to overstate the difficulties, but XCOM multiplayer highlighted that there's some tweaking involved in porting mechanics to PvP no matter how solid your tactical game is.
Anyway, campaign is hovering at nearly 2m so with a surge in the final days it should get to the PvP stretchgoal.

It's a really fun universe until about the midpoint of the Clan Invasion. From then on it's moments of cool (Tukayyid) in a sea of bad. :tocry

I am probably misunderstanding you guys, but there isn't a way to overstate the difference in building a PvE game and a PvP one.
