early voted NDP
So it sounds like Harper is definitely going to lose, right?
Do I get an honorary vote since I can see Canada from my state (Michigan)? :doge
If so put me down for Trudeau. Make Canada Great For The First Time :doge
So, do we all remember back during the 2012 US election campaign, when the Onion had that hilarious video clip about how social media would make it nearly impossible to find someone capable of running for President within a couple decades?
You know, this one?

Yeah, so this is the election in Canadian Politics where this principle hit hard.
Let's start with the biggest doozy.
Here, a Conservative candidate in a Toronto suburb, whose private business was appliance repair, was caught in a newsmagazine "sting" pissing into a coffee cup on a repair call.
Yes, that's right. A Candidate for a seat in the Federal Parliament of Canada was caught on video pissing into a coffee cup in a stranger's house. Watch the vid here:

A Conservative candidate in Quebec bows out after blaming First Nations for not assimilating into European culture, and talking about "men's superiority over women."

Another Quebec Conservative Candidate compares the NDP leader to Joseph Goebbels:

A Toronto Conservative candidate dropped out after it was discovered he was a very minor youtube celebrity who made prank calls, including faking an orgasm while on the phone with a female customer service rep:

A Calgary Liberal candidate apologized after Twitter comments surfaced of her telling random pro-Israel trolls to "go blow your brains out you waste of sperm", and "your mother should have used a coat hanger." Her excuse was that her tweets were made when she was a teenager. Which is fine, except for the fact that she's only 21 now.

An NDP candidate in Hamilton made comments on a friend's facebook years ago. The friend visited Auschwitz, and took photos of the fences. The NDP candidate then posted a comment to this photo of a Nazi Death Camp "Ahhh, the infamous Pollish (sic), phallic, hydro posts, Of course you took pictures of this! It expresses how the curve is normal, natural, and healthy right!". Yeah, she made a fucking penis joke at a photo of Auschwitz. But then, when the scandal hit, this woman, who was a school board trustee, used the excuse that she "didn't know what Auschwitz was, or I didn't until today."

A Liberal candidate was turfed after a Facebook post was found, made right after a crazed fucking terrorist killed a soldier and stormed Parliament declared that "Harper has turned our Nation's Capital into a War Zone" and said that the RCMP was the "Canadian Gestapo." (The preferred nomenclature is "The Crimson Stasi")

A Liberal Candidate was turfed after Facebook posts in 2013 revealed her as a 9/11 Truther. Her excuses/defence was that it was "her truth at the time. I have since moved on."

So, would/has the NDP formed a coalition govt with the conservatives?
So, would/has the NDP formed a coalition govt with the conservatives?
We've actually never had a formal coalition government in Canada to my knowledge (ie. an actual agreement, where the junior partner in the coalition gets some members in the cabinet, etc.)
What does each candidate think of Obama? This will be crucial to my final selection.
No doubt some of these are just miscreants that the machine couldn't whitewash. But I'm reminded of that VEGAS BAR WENCH (sluuuuuuuutttt) swept into office in the NDP QC wave last cycle. Seemed to turn out alright. I'd fuckin' canvas if half our MPs turned out like her

Will there be a half time show?
What does each candidate think of Obama? This will be crucial to my final selection.
I'd say that Obama is probably more popular in Canada than any of our own leaders.
So each one has pretty much said that they have/will have a great, positive relationship with Obama.
Of course, there's really no denying that there's been some tensions between Harper and Obama. Which is why in the last English debate, the live audience actually laughed when Harper claimed he had a great relationship with Obama.
Harper seems like a real jackass; hope you show him the door, decisively.
lol cbc guys talking about the jays game instead of the election
:lol Now we're watching clips from Murdoch Mysteries. Oh, CBC.

Richard Nixon predicted Trudeau’s rise to high office in 1972 during a state visit to Ottawa, when the winner of Canada’s 2015 federal election was just four months old.
“Tonight we’ll dispense with the formalities. I’d like to toast the future prime minister of Canada, to Justin Pierre Trudeau,” said Nixon
Pierre Trudeau, then Canada’s prime minister, responded that should his eldest son ever assume the role, he hoped he would have “the grace and skill of the president”.

"I've been called worse things by better people."
- When it was reported to him that President Richard Nixon had called him an "asshole" (1971), quoted in Absurdities, Scandals & Stupidities in Politics (2006) by Hakeem Shittu and Callie Query, p. 19
Nixon was pretty far from our worst President. If it had been George W. Bush that made that wish, I'd be in a panic. Not only was The Shrub quite bad as a president, but Canada's new Prime Minister would be less than 8 years old.
I once went on a date at the Nixon Presidential Library and on the tour... even though I was only one of two people under the age of fifty something on the tour.
I had sex that day, btw.
Waaiiiiittttaminute, you didn't specify that it was with the same girl you took on the date. :P
