Just finished Episode 5 and wow mang.

Cuz I dont play Episodic games until its all released. I'll get it when its on sale since I doubt there will be a retail version to rent from Gamefly

You make decisions and can turn back time immediately if you don't like the outcome. Otherwise I don't know what makes this different.

I didn't know the new episode was out, neat. Between Life is Strange and Until Dawn, I don't think I can stomach another shoddy Telltale game.

Finished episode 5.

It's a great structured and paced version of one of these games. Arguably better than Walking Dead Season 1 which was the prior high water mark but I could see people going either way on that. It's an exceptionally well done one of these type games.

There will of course be the nitpickers. People who will play it and eagerly tell you why its flawed or why this or that plot hole is X or Y, and how whatever other game does whatever so much better. And they are entitled to that opinion of course. I will just ignore them. The same way I ignore people who will quickly tell me how Walking Dead Season 1 is flawed for a multitude of reasons I could care less about.

There was a reason that game was important and touched so many people and Life is Strange is just as good in its own way.

The people who tend to respond to these type of games tend to be the empathetic types and I'm certainly one of those but I can still distinguish between the ones that do it better than the others. This is one of the ones that does it better than the others.

It's basically Gone Home mixed with Groundhog day/Donnie Darko, mixed with the Telltale formula.

Iffy ass dialogue and some plot/structural quibbles aside, it's engrossing as fuck and its got charm! Every episode ratchets it up.

Episode 5 is getting mixed reactions from what I've seen, but it's the good kind, if you know what I mean.

Reviewers have never taken to Life is Strange quite as much as the general public who played it has. I've noticed it all throughout the release of the episodes.

Like I read the ign review and it was all the gameplay brings it down. Which is certainly an opinion someone can have. I don't agree with it. I mean Walking Dead Season 1 had "shooting" elements in it and other sketchy elements but I don't really believe you judge these kind of games on those things. Not to mention Walking Dead Season 2 is just a mess when it comes to the actual story and plotting but that didn't stop it from getting praised by these same reviewers.

These are the same sites that have been sucking off Assassin's Creed games for years when their gameplay and story lore are both shit.

Episode 5 has an extended "Stealth" section. Is it good gameplay. No. Is it any worse than any of the gameplay elements in these sorts of games that have come before. No.

It also is more going for a trippy vibe during the section. It's not really about the stealth. It's about the visuals and the dialogue. So I get the complaint. I can see a universe where the complaint is valid. But I think its a case of missing the forest for the trees.

1st episode was good, I decided to wait until it was complete to play the rest. Can't wait to sit down and finish it.

I really liked the last half of episode 5. A lot of fans didn't like the way it ended, but I think it ended appropriately (my ending anyway).

lol. That attitude is fine. I think either choice is very human. But I love the shitbirds who save chloe and get mad because their ending isn't the romantic one they envision. It's a really downer ending. You don't get a big treat for killing hundreds of people.  The other ending is good too. Sad but realistic. And it's the one they clearly put the most time into and is probably the canonical choice if they do a Season 2. Not saying they should do a season two of course. I would be delighted if this was just one story and they moved on to tell some other story next.

Finished the last episode. I think my favorite thing about of the whole experience was friendzoning that dork Warren hard. In the choices screen I was among only 6% of players who didn't show him any affection at all. :lawd

Played through the all 5 episodes yesterday with my girlfriend. Was an awesome experience.

It's the first Tell-tale style adventure game I've played since TWD season 1.

Great story, characters and all that.

While playing I kept forgetting the main mechanic of the game, rewinding time, while solving puzzles. Routinely I'd be walking around an area trying to figure out wtf to do then remember "time travel" and then figure it out immediately.

I think saving Chloe is the better option. I think it's a great way to make you live with the choice you've made instead of going back and fixing things like you've been doing.

When I realized that Chloe was being played by Ashley Burch it nearly ruined the entire game for me right at that moment. Once you know it's her, the voice becomes so OBVIOUSLY her.
