I have the PS4 LE of Fallout 4 preordered but I'm probably gonna flip it for cash. WRPGs, especially 100+ hour long ones, aren't really my thing anymore.

Yeah I'd wait to see how buggy  each game is at launch.

How about none of them?
Title: Re: Fallout 4 or Star Wars?
Post by: Mods Help on October 29, 2015, 12:04:11 PM
Neither.

Fallout 4 will be an overhyped game with little replay value and actual choices on top of being buggy as shit.

Star Wars will be dead by week three.

If you're going to do anything, wait on Fallout for six months and gleam what the actual opinion on the game is. Skyrim was great until you reached hour 50 and realized how flawed it was and then the seams started unraveling from there. Not only that, but the game will be cheaper then too.

Cool so I can buy Fallout and get 50 hours of enjoyment before the seams start to unravel, thanks

skyrim was great even after 300 hours gtfo

only reason I'm waiting on fallout 4 is to see just how shitty the port quality is. I played thru all of fo3 on ps3 and it worked even tho it kinda sucked, but obviously skyrim in ps3 was lol

People think Battlefront is going to be dead? The game is going to sell extremely well and people liked the Beta.

People played the crap out of the previous games and those were unbalanced pos.

Utterly different games so...If I was just going to get one it would be fallout but they serve completely different purposes so I'll be getting both.

The game won't be dead at all. It's Star Wars. It's a known ip. It will sell a shitload. You will be able to find games for years.

Fallout will have a lot more going for it at launch. A lot of stuff is still unknown about the game, so being on the frontlines for it would be exciting in of itself.

Whereas you know what Battlefront is going to offer, and how it'll play over the period of 100 hours.

Already preordered Fallout 4, don't really care much about Battlefront.

Buy a c tier new Tales game at launch and sleep on Witcher 3 and Fallout 4, brehs.

Assuming no network issues/crashes with either game. I'd get Fallout 4 now when I know I can take my time with it on some long weekends and in a few months get Battlefront when some more maps are released. Or the other way around if you're going to sell the first game since MP games depreciate slower I believe. Unless Battlefront has some "premium" code which basically makes it have a fixed price forever while FO4 can be expected to drop rapidly when the next Bethesda game is announced.

I hope that cleared things up.  :doge

Another point, if you play that 50 hours within the first month or two of release, you can trade the game back usually for 2/3 of its cost or sell it to someone. Paying $20 or the equivalent of that for having fun for any time period is worth it usually.

LOL Looks like a hit a nerve. I don't think it's too much to ask for a great game experience the whole run, but apparently, that's too much to ask for. I hear complaints similar to what I described for Dragon Age Inquisition. Especially by Lager. Hey Lager, remember when you said you couldn't play DAI after Witcher 3? Imagine that for Fallout 4.

Guess what, no one's talking about DAI now, because Witcher 3 knocked it on its ass with an apparently all around great game experience.

If anything, given that this is a  sequel to 3 and NV, it'd probably take 10 hours for the seams to come un-done, because more people have been exposed to better quality. FO3 was new and fresh, and Skyrim is Skyrim. We've got New Vegas, which will undoubtedly have better writing than FO4. Witcher 3 apparently had refreshing and extremely open-ended quest design, which raises the stakes even higher. And we know FO4 isn't going to top Witcher 3, because it's Bethesda and Bethesda can't write.

Higher expectations due to Skyrim + higher quality rpgs being released (NV, Witcher 3) means when this game comes out and it's not nearly as good, people are gonna trash it.

I can see it any day now. Looking forward to witnessing the backlash, especially against the voice PC. I don't have any confidence in Bethesda pulling this off.

Then I'll buy it when it's 20 bucks on a Steam sale.

We haven't played FO4 yet, but FO4 also looks strikingly underwhelming and given Bethesda's past history with poor writing, lack of options, lack of actual role playing - all of which are key ingredients to a great Fallout game - it's a good point to keep one's expectations low. Much better than keeping ones expectations high and being disappointed. Since everyone is now drowning in Fallout 4 hype, it'll take a few months to assess the games truth worth. Either way, I'm looking forward to playing it, eventually.

You shouldn't feel pressed by the Day One culture, Lager. You have a kid. Wait 4-6 months, see if it's an overhyped POS like every other AAA game these days, and purchase it based on that.

You have a point, I loved FO3 but that was 7 years ago and Skyrim bored me to tears after 15/20 hours. And yeah going from Witcher 3 to POS like DA was unbearable.

But we havent played FO yet

Neither. Wait for the game of the year version for both.

And honestly, even then: Neither. Fallout is just an Elderscroll mod.  :zzz :zzz :zzz :zzz :zzz :zzz

Battlefront in general with Star Wars in general is :zzz :zzz :zzz :zzz :zzz

Just gonna get the Bloodborne dlc most likely.

Fallout 4 is probably something I'll get down the line. From the leaked vids, it looks like the last three Bethesda games with slightly better graphics.
