Post by: mormapope on December 04, 2015, 06:57:24 PM: And you can't play the digital PS2 games you bought on PS3. There's no true backwards compatibility to speak of, you have to buy ports. You have to pay for a digital PS2 classic again if you already owned it on PS3 and want to play it on PS4.

Apparently you get new hardware features with the PS2 game you buy, so you're essentially buying a PS2 port. Anyone hoping to play disc based PS2 games or digital PS2 games they own are getting fucked tenfold.

Post by: Takao on December 04, 2015, 07:07:41 PM: The games are being thrown into an emulator just like they were in the past. The only actual work being put in (beyond the emulator itself) appears to be for the fucking trophies. The higher res/frame rate, Remote Play, Share Play, etc. are all a result of just being on PS4.

-stuttering and emulation glitches

-ps3 versions don't work, discs don't work
-waiting for sony to trickle out bullshit

PCSX2 on an 8800GT and core 2 duo in 2009
-better than PS4 in 2015 in every single way
-plays the discs you bought

Since PSX titles on PSN are straight up .iso rips to turn them into .pbp's for Sony's stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if the PS2 stuff on PSN for PS3 is a straight up .iso rip as well.

Makes me wonder if someone has dumped those releases off PSN to see if they could get them to run on PCSX2. PPSSPP runs PSN-bought stuff.
