Just went BC so you can play it on either box.

Yet another digital purchase I could've had gratis.

I've got Witcher 3 that I haven't played yet. Should I play 2 first?
-
There's no real need. W3 is what the series should have been from the start.
No harm in grabbing this though. It has its moments.
-
This whole board was Boner City for Witcher 2.

I really liked W2 too, but if you don't have the time or whatever there's no need to play it before W3. The stories aren't direct continuations. Well, for the state of the world they are, but not really for the characters. The context you need to understand what's going on is usually given in the conversation you need it for and if it isn't it's a reference to the books.
That said, W2 is probably the shortest one of the three, even if you play both versions of Act 2.

Witcher 2 helps you familiarize yourself with the tone of the world but its definitely not necessary before playing Witcher 3.

thank you guys. Considering I don't find the time like I used to for games then I'll go straight to W3.
