goddamn what a time to be a star wars fan
This looks really good. One of the hardest things about sci fi prequels is that modern film making is so high tech that it's nigh impossible to replicate the grit or "lived in" look of the previous film. Prometheus was a major offender in this department for instance. Just based on the brief teaser that world looks like the A New Hope world, just in HD.Agree but Prometheus did have Charlize Theron
whewwww
:whew
goddamn what a time to be a star wars fan
not if you also hate women
:doge
Looks dope. I could have done without that looping tusk raider horn effect tho.The people who cut this teaser must be the same uncreative group who keeps on putting those goddamn horn loops in every single trailer/teaser now-a-days. :doge
Is that Donnie Yen? I saw Donnie Yen. That's Donnie Yen right? OMG Donnie Yen!It appears to be Donnie Yen as Zatoichi.
Yes clearly it's not an Oscar worthy magnus opus like Avatar.:dead
I dunno who Donnie Yen is ?
I don't know who was the Borean that said that he would be mad if Donnie Yen was just there to wave a stick for two scenes.

My wife is not convinced by Felicity Jones, thought she was a bit too much of stereotype (with her lines I guess?)
I don't know who was the Borean that said that he would be mad if Donnie Yen was just there to wave a stick for two scenes. That would indeed be a pity but that's already what happened in Blade 2 (and Highlander Endgame, god I forgot about that :lol) so I prefer to expect a repeat of that, unfortunately.QuoteI dunno who Donnie Yen is ?
Famous HK martial arts film star, seen in the Ip Man franchise, arguably the biggest one in the current industry after many years of having to take a seat to Jackie Chan & Jet Li (He started in film in the mid-80). He's not as charismatic as they are and I'm not up to date to with his recent career (I found Sha Po Lang and Flashpoint to be terribly shit and pretty light on the action, so I'm not going to suffer through any Wilson Yip movie ever again) but there's a number of great classics from the 80-90 with great scenes even though he was rarely the main man.
If you like HK flicks I would recommend Iron Monkey and also Dragon Inn (the 92 version) or Once upon a time in China 2 (he's the antagonist in the last two) for the ones in costumes. Yen was also the star of Tiger Cage 1 & 2 and In the line of duty 4 which are competent, action packed, 80's HK crime movies (fairly jank & low brow).

And that alarm sound... :snoop
Who's doing the music for this one?Alexandre Desplat
It is a period of civil war.
Rebel spaceships, striking
from a hidden base, have won
their first victory against
the evil Galactic Empire.
During the battle, Rebel
spies managed to steal secret
plans to the Empire's
ultimate weapon, the DEATH
STAR, an armored space
station with enough power
to destroy an entire planet.
They're not perfect but I can't let you throw FP and SPL under the bus when they gave us these:
So when I heard they were making a movie called "Rogue One", I assumed, stupidly it seems, that it would heavily involve X-Wings. I didn't see a single starfighter in that whole goddamn trailer.
Another Star Wars movie with a planet destroying weapon huh :doge
Maybe Manabyte is right. At least the prequels had original worlds and concepts and lore :doge

I think this one is a prequel too, right? Looks like that chick is the 'good people' that dies bringing Leia the plans to the death star right?
:gladbronNo John Williams? It's ...not really a Star Wars film then. :gloomy I guess that just further cements its status as a side film but still, come on Disney, it's not like you are lacking in cash and this won't clean up at the box office or anything. Maybe the schedule they are churning these out at prevents JW from doing them all.
would much rather other genres set in star wars than more jj style rehashes
yeah but gary whitta and gareth edwards

John Williams is probably already busy on Episode VIIIYeah, that's basically the conclusion I've drawn. Either can't do all of them due to time constraints or wont't because dude doesn't want to spend severqal years of his life scoring nothing but one franchise.
ugh I hate you "john williams woulda saved it" motherfuckers more than anything:tocry I'll see it either way, I saw all the fucking prequels in theaters!
