#hottake from slate here, blaming climate change like the alarmist SJW they are. but it also has some real neat photos/vids and it mentions that there have been no reported deaths, which is also nice.

Just saw an interview a BBC report on this and they were interviewing an RCMP officer who mentioned the fires were nearing some oil storage facilities that, if they went off, would have a blast radius of 14 km.

Fire is scary as shit, its the embers and ash that spread the fire even further causing more fires. One minute you're ok next you're surrounded.

It’s not immediately clear when the wildfires will be extinguished, but some estimates place it at months. And given its unpredictable nature, it could be a while before oil production returns to normal in northern Alberta.

...Is this, like, your first wildfire? This will not be contained until the fall if no rain (and by this I mean HEAVY rain) contains it. They'd literally have to go into the Great Lakes (or whatever is closer) and start dumping by air to contain it.
