Seems like Nintendo were blindsided a bit by the Neo and Scorpio. They thought they'd be a touch ahead of the curve only to discover they'll be a little behind as usual. I don't mind how strong their hardware is as long as they get rid of the awful gamepad and gimmicks.

Yeah, I would be perfectly OK with the Wii U's amount of graphical power in a more efficient and cheaper form factor.
Slim it down enough to be a handheld, or slim it down enough to be a $100 set-top box the size of a hockey puck. Bam. Blue oceans all the way down, baby.

I'm all about Nintendo making another handheld -Sony's out of the game, it seems, so they're the only ones left- and if it has the proper amount of buttons (I.E. not a bunch of touch-only crap) it just means that all the third parties making Vita games will go over/back to Nintendo to keep making the same stuff. Works for me.

Nintendo would make so much fucking money if they went third party.Their games are the only reason people bother buying their consoles nowadays, imagine how many more units they'd move if there on platforms with other compelling shit on them and thus a much larger userbase (with the exception of the anomaly that is the Wii). I wonder if they've done the math and determined that due to licensing fees and such it's more profitable for them to remain a 1st party and make their own machines or it's just some JP pride shit.

The NX is 2 WiiUs duct taped to a 3DS. A WiiU is 2 Wiis duct taped to a Leapfrog learning pad. A Wii is 2 Gamecubes duct taped to a waggle wand. My friends, we are up to 8 Gamecubes duct taped to a peripheral. It won't be too many console generations now until the sun is blotted out by Gamecubes and duct tape. This is the "Grey Goo" extinction event scientists warned us about. Nintendo must be stopped.
