Almost pulling trigger on Elite Dangerous Complete Pack for €33 if the servers weren't shitting themselves
-
I really like Elite Dangerous on xbone for what it's worth
-
can't do shit, it's busted
but i'm getting va11-ha11a (not on sale), Valdis Story, and Ys Oath
-

good on you. I always feel extra bad for those promising indie games that launch right before a Steam sale. Nobody would possibly plan that out.
-
would b cool if the store worked
also curious that a grip of games have been on sale for cheaper than they currently are, some fairly recently

I dont own Stellaris! I would have bought it had it been like... 35% off. Fucking jokes!
-
huniepop for 3.40

Wow, these discounts are pretty bad. :lol

looked too amazing to pass up. Like a PC98 game, except in english (and minus the porn ;_;)

Glad I held out on Tranformers. $12.50 is just my price as a non-TF fan. When I get home will go through the rest of my wish list and grab more games I'll never play. :'(
Need to pick up Dark Souls III sometime in the next year. Guessing it'll go cheaper than $45 by December, so I'll wait on it.

Got my EUIV DLC :rejoice
-
finally got the shenmue dlc for sonic allstars for less than a dollar
-
There's some stuff lurking around at 80+% off and lowest prices ever if you start really digging through the library. Also, some of the bundles are cheaper than buying a game outright even if you own four of the five games because the discounting will get all wacky.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter + Redux (http://store.steampowered.com/app/258520/) - 80% off - $4
Aarklash: Legacy (http://store.steampowered.com/app/222640/) - 90% off - $2
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (http://store.steampowered.com/app/255390/) - 80% off - $3
For Andy, the Pokemon inspired Deity Quest (http://store.steampowered.com/app/340330/) - 80% off - $2
I love how bad Activision and UbiSoft's deals are on nearly ten year old games. The first Ass Creed for $10? I'm pretty sure I got it for like $3.74 back in 2008 or something during a sale. Same for II, Brotherhood, etc.
They're never going to put the CoD+UO+2 pack on sale for less than $15. It should be like $5.
-
Already made $2 off the cards + a CS:GO case drop from last weekend. So I bought a whole bundle of the fifty cent garbage with what I was buying to push me over to get more cards to sell.

ur a regular Alexander Koreiko

wanted to sell off a bunch of cards for a few bucks discount, would have to wait 15 days since I didn't have an authenticator set up, so I go to set my authenticator up, forgot my steam password, reset my steam password, can't sell for a week since I just changed my password. GG valve :'(
but it's for REmake so i'm just gonna buy that shit anyway
-
Bought Jet Set Radio and Dishonored in the sale. Also bought va11-ha11a and am tempted to buy Read Only Memories-- am getting tired of waiting for the console port.
-
All of Saints Row from 2 to Gat Out of Hell is on sale in a bundle for 12.49. Sleeping Doges is 7.49.
-
Jumped on 40% off DOOM.
-
So far this sale:
Witcher 3: Blood and Wine
Party Hard
The Solus Project
Galak-Z
Pillars of Eternity
Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak
Homeworld: Remastered Collection
-
Steam Link and Steam Controller are $35. Might pick up a Steam Link for my eventual gaming/video editing PC.

Why do that when nearly most any PC you own can do the same? Unless you only own one PC anyway. Controller isn't worth it, IMO. Especially if you're wanting to play traditional console stuff.
-
Yeah I plan on using a Pro Controller, but Steam Link seems nice. I don't necessarily want my desktop right next to my TV.
-
ok now i own everything on steam again, i can call the next sale a shit sale

I will be sure to tell them that next summer 8)

Gonna try returning batman. Runs like shit still.
-
Man, Punch Club is disappointing. Talos Principle is way more fun than I expected though, and I got it for like 6 bucks on some random boutique game site
-
I opened Steam, installed Blood & Wine, thought about buying Doom, then logged out of Steam.
So, that's how the sale is going for me.

I should and I will, but I'm not going to play it anytime soon, and it will just keep getting cheaper. I'll buy it when I'm ready to play it.

Yeah that looks like a $20 or less thang to me. You people paying full price for pc shit are weird and doing it wrong.

http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/833/
59c and 8 of them have trading cards
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CmXIjiCUcAIZ8mk.jpg)
seems like it's a customised bundle based on what I own
-
Yeah, there's a lot of those, they've added something to the store where it takes out the stuff you already own from bundles and you still get the discount.
It does seem that they have to be specifically set though, it's doesn't seem to be automatic on bundles that have been around for ages.
-
I clicked through to that and it's $.59 for meas well. I've never heard of the stuff in the pile and I don't have that many RPGs on steam. :-[
-
That feel when you update your wishlist just in time to get gifted games you wanted by your ex instead of DLC from games you haven't played in months. :whew

Report: This year's Steam Summer Sale was even bigger than last year's (http://www.polygon.com/2016/7/6/12107700/steam-summer-sale-2016-best-selling-games)
The biggest of these, according to Steam Spy's own charts, is Limbo, which sold more than 1.1 million copies over the course of the sales period.
Was tempted to pick up Beyond Good and Evil, but ended up not buying a thing.
-
*steam sale's over*
welp, just thought of 2 things i wanted to buy. skullgirls expansion + system shock remastered
-
I find it odd that the sale did well since everything was on for what its normal sale price is and no deep discounts really. A non-sale game being the biggest seller during the time frame is a huge tell that this was not all that amazing an event even if it did somehow outpace last year.
-
What's especially interesting is that Limbo wasn't actually discounted during the Summer Sale. Instead, its success is likely due to anticipation for its follow-up, Inside, which is now available on Windows PC after hitting Xbox One last week.
Or...it means he needs to look at the data closer because all those "sales" might have been on a single day before the Summer Sale as it was FREE for an entire day before the sale: http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=44295.0
-
I have no idea how Steam Spy gathers their numbers, but even if most of the Limbo "sales" were free copies there's still this:
https://twitter.com/Steam_Spy/status/750650356724539392
It seems this Steam Summer Sale was way more successful than the previous one: $236M vs $160M in revenue, 37M games vs 33M sold.
It'd be helpful if the top ten games sold list were readjusted.
-
Steam Spy scrapes information from public Steam accounts.
-
It's more Polygon's writing than SteamSpy's "report" which was just some preliminary stuff anyway. On Twitter he (Steam_Spy) seemed to indicate he just took the difference between how many people owned the games before the sale and after and that he needed more time to collect and crunch through the more detailed data.
If he picked a day too early though for the comparison, it explains Limbo's status at the top. Also there's how his scraper/parser works, takes extra time from the actual activity. (One tweet seemed to suggest three days...which would explain the Limbo free day or part of it getting grabbed on the outlier of his 72 hour period.)
And not Polygon's wacky theory about people flocking to a six year old game at $10 during a steam sale because of the same developer releasing a new title the same week on the Xbox One.

Loving the shit out of Soma. What a game.
