I like the gamepad being used as a chat client. I bet that was a bitch to localize... lolThat's actually kind of awesome.
The characters even send emoji/stickers
Looked at some Grand Kingdom gameplay... I still dont get how it plays. Is it a JRPG?It's an SRPG.
whens the pc port coming outHow many Atlus games have you seen on PC? OK now how many Nintendo published games? Yeah. :gloomy
It's Persona because:
- The characters are teeny-boppers
- The story revolves around "Mirages" (shadows) stealing "Performa" (lol)
- Your teeny bopper character discovers they can take the form of Fire Emblem characters
- You gain social links by being the best friend ever, which unlocks abilities (Stage Rank)
- You merge "Performa" into new "Carnage Form" (weapons) for your not-persona Fire Emblem character
- The classic SMT/Persona weakness/resist battle system, which just a sprinkling of Fire Emblem (axe weakness, sword weakness, spear weakness along with enemy-type weakness)
- Your characters are part of a secret investigation squad (Fortuna Enterprises) who are totally trying to solve the mystery ofTartarusthe Idolaspheres
- The UI is Persona rofl
- Tiki = Igor
When the game launched in Japan, somebody made a thread about level-ups giving you random stats. As in like, you can equally get +2 agility for a level as you can get +3 Strength +4 Agility +2 Magic etc.
Has anything happened that bad/noticeable to any of you?
Most of them are stock phrases; everyone gets unique in-battle quotes in certain battles (eg. Itsuki and Tsubasa have unique in-battle quotes in the first battle, which are never used in the rest of the game - "So this is the power of Carnage Form...", everyone has a unique quote their first turn against a particular boss - "We have to save Ayaha!", etc.) There are also "reaction" quotes (eg. the next person taking their turn reacts at the last person going down, etc.), "low health" quotes, "statused" quotes, and so on. There are also quotes for things like "don't start a session attack because my attack will get blocked", or "all set for session attack" and the like.
There's also special quotes for almost every costume you can make your characters wear. For example Yashiro's Doktor Schraube outfit makes him say "Looks like it's time to start the surgery" and stuff like that. There's a bikini costume for Ellie that makes all her quotes feel more embarrased and her saying "D-don't stare at me so much".
I wonder if that quote is still in for her replacement costume because they didn't even translate the battle dialogue.
Additionally, if you promote some mirages there'll be new quotes too. For example when promoting Ellies archer to an assassin he will say more dark stuff followed by his standard catchphrase about nobility, and Ellie then comments about how this makes no sense. Some of them are pretty fun.
When you select an attack, you will be able to see a potential session chain. If the last person in the session chain will have their attacks absorbed, reflected, or blocked, they will voice their concern. For example, if you are targeting an enemy that absorbs axes, and Mamori is the last member of your session chain, when you select that enemy, you will hear Mamori (or more likely, Draug) telling you not to attack.
Of course, you are free to ignore that advice; after all, if you kill off that enemy before Mamori attacks, then Mamori's attack will be part of an overkill, and attacks on subsequent target ignore absorb/reflect/block.
Characters will also have "reaction" dialogue - eg. Itsuki's turn after getting hit with an attack will have something along the lines of Chrom saying "are you okay" and Itsuki replying in the affirmative.
