Title: Football 2016/2017 "Mesut-merizing"

Pelle just signed a deal in China, he could have gone to Everton but chose to go to Shandong Luneng.

Apparently he will be getting 16 million a year so yeah who can blame him.

Higuain to Arsenal?

Personally I think he is not amazing, but I guess he could be a bit better then Giroud? Havent seen him at Napoli but remember him missing for Argentina a lot.

He never seemed to live up to some the strident hype he generated, as far back as a Real player.
His numbers are OK though. A solid player that is maybe due for a late career high.

Didn't Juventus bought Pogba for a million or so back then ? Pretty funny seeing United behaving like nouveau riche clubs. Goes to show that you only escape it when you have a great man at the bar. Agnellis on the other hand are shrewd motherfuckers.  :money Just think how many years worth of PEDs and bribes they just provisioned with that sale.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Joking aside, Juventus has the reputation of being one of the healthiest clubs around, as far as income go.

We got unlimited money.  May as well put it to use.  Compared to our turnover it's only our 3rd biggest transfer ever.

Strategically were nouveau riche anyway. It was cool to have a bit of a stone age transfer philosophy under SAF but nobody else can pull that off. The last 3 summers have been us trying to figure out how the transfer market works now (agent fees,  intermediaries,  how to approach clubs). We make the CL this year (God help us if we don't lmao)  and you can expect us to buy Griezmann for an even bigger amount next year.

Wait a minute.

Mario Balotelli has signed for the OGC Nice ?
Is it because they're also a red and black stripes team ?
Super Mario in one of France's prime tourism spot, what could go wrong ?
 :neogaf

They also signed Dante, tho.

I haven't seen him play that much, but I'm not denying there's some talent there. If so, he'll probably stay afloat without too much difficulties. Fuoriclasse offensive talent is a rather scarce commodity in the French league. Nice may also prove to be a decent choice for him : they're a mainstay in the top tier. They have irregular results but finished fourth twice in the last four years. And the pressure there for him will be half what it would have been in Lyon (which tried to sign him) or neighbouring Marseille.

So the official Iceland team will not be featured in FIFA17. According to the Icelandic federation, the EA offer for their rights was "under 2 million ISK" which amounts to roughly 18.000$, and the publisher didn't accept the federation's counter proposal.

It's a bit of a random fact but it goes to show there's not that much money in licensing deals, at least for bit players...
